Interesting. I had four of these growing up and I lost the tip of my middle finger due to necrosis and multiple fractures. I call that finger lowercase. It went from the metacarpal to the distal phalanx, back to the metacarpal, then *back* to the distal phalanx. Huge PITA because I played baritone saxophone and playing that instrument in the splint phase is not easy, I'll tell you what lol

I'm sorry to hear your son isn't doing well. Aneurysmal bone cysts are benign bone lesions, but they can sometimes cause problems if they are in a difficult area (like the spine for example). I only diagnose bone tumors, but I do not treat them. So I am not an expert at treatment. From my understanding, aneurysmal bone cyst is usually removed surgically (by an orthopedic surgeon) and then the bone is grafted/cemented/repaired/stabilized during surgery. Please discuss everything with the orthopedic surgeon to find out the best treatment for your son. Best wishes for health and healing for your son and peace to you and your family.
