The legends are based on countless people doing stuff like this. I used to throw mine with as much spin as possible, as high as possible (which was about a three story house) and try to catch it. Most of the times I did not catch it, and it just hit the asphalt at supersonic speeds (falling + the spinning). Did this countless times without issues. The front and back just popped off and snapped right back.

That bike throw was actually an AWESOME demonstration of rotational physics. The tire was literally acting as a directional support because it was spinning so fast. It became too hard for the wind to change the momentum and thus it only slowely twisted in a completely flat position.

It fell that way because of how the wind was flowing through the bike The wheels weren’t spinning when let go, so it would take a lot to get them spinning that much to cause what you claim Also, you cannot even make such a claim after one event. I'm no expert in physics so take this with a grain of salt, but I would expect a smaller bouncy ball to bounce higher. I would guess the greater the mass, the more inertia meaning it would require more energy to stop and change direction (bounce). Plus the greater surface area of a large bouncy ball I think would mean that more kinetic energy was transformed into heat as the material stretches and contracts. Love to see some tests of like a 2 lb bouncy ball vs a 20 pound bouncy ball.
@SoneGurke
8 ай бұрын
i would guess it reached it's terminal velocity along the way
@RavenWindrunner
8 ай бұрын
@@SoneGurkeI haven't had to do much physics calculations in a while so I can't off hand determine what each balls terminal velocity would be if it achieved that while falling. Assuming each balls velocity wasn't massively different when it reached the ground, the inertia of the much larger mass would be much higher. I would think the larger ball would lose more energy through heat as it stretches than the smaller ball, meaning less vertical force back upwards. But it would be interesting to see in practice.

I remember I took the head off of one of those chickens and stuck it to the exhaust of a motorcycle and the scream was priceless
2:01 "Let's send the Nokia 3310" The ground never stood a chance.
It's like dropping Jupiter down the milkyway. I like this project, nice👍

Every time I watch these guys, it always makes me wonder what it must be like to be so happy.

Personally, they are annoying. Another channel I just blocked, lol.
I've always wanted to see a chair dropped from a high distance, but I never expected someone on KZread to do it for some reason.
Gaunson's laugh at 14:20 makes me quite happy. 😄
Honest and clean fun, a real bunch of big kids. Not a swear word in sight!
"If you're having a bad day, I hope that brought a smile to your face. That was so stupid." I am, and it did. A+, mission accomplished. The tiny pause on impact before it starts screaming again justifies the internet existing.
Herron’s impression of the rubber chicken was spot on and hilarious!
When You drop balls or other round objects there will always be some rotation that causes Magnus effect and can crush cameras attached to the dropped object. Why not stabilize those objects with kind of fins? An archer's arrow, sticked in the rubberband-ball would've been probably enough to define its flight direction and impact-frontside.
THE NOKIA IS INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!
