GIANT BLACK WOLF grows from PUPPY to ADULT - Life of Wolfdog Ep.1

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Our Little Wolf, Kamala is only 10 weeks old and still a baby. Watch her grow and evolve, as she learns all of the skills she needs in the human world to grow up strong and confident. This weeks PART 1 of a 6 month series will follow baby Kamala as she faces life challenges. She will be guided by her human Jessica, who will introduce her to new experiences every day and guide her through them all until she blossoms into a strong and beautiful adult black phase wolfdog.
Good socialisation and confidence building means that less wolves and wolfdogs are surrendered to rescues every year.
Our sponsor WOLF GAME says:
"We have learned a lot about protecting wolves whilst we researched our game. We realized that there are more meaningful things we can do. We will actively promote the concept of wild wolf protection within the gaming community. We also intend to make donations to groups or institutions related to the conservation of wolves or wild animals. We want to draw more attention to the need to protect wolves, other wild animals and the wider environment. In doing this, we sincerely hope our players enjoy the game."

My pup loves his car rides and hangs out the window taking it all in. He's a celebrity around town. :) We go to the coffee shop every morning; he gets his treat while I am ordering from the cashier. He meets all the regulars and another pup or two if they are friendly.

Are the pups taken away from their mums so early specifically to be raised & bottle fed by new owner to create the bond? If so I think that surely must cause much distress for both pup & mum😥

Not entirely true. I'm not as much of a dog expert as her. But I deffs know more about wolf socialization. And raising captive pure breds and enough about dogs and primitive breeds to be able to handle one. It's more so on breeders. Essentially you need the full genome of the wolf used in the crossing. Then need to test every pup. And wait till they're a tad bit older before rehoming any. First few generations usually can't be rehomed. And they all have to be raised fairly wolfy at first if not like pure breds without doing anything that damages dog temperment examples. You can end up with things that look like dogs but are essentially pure bred wolves. And things that look like wolves but essentially are just dogs. And everything in between.

If you want a dog that looks like a wolf just buy a Siberian Husky, long haired German shepherd, an Australian Shepherd, Caanan Dog, Northern Inuit Dogs (bred to look like a wolf and were used as dire wolves in game of thrones), Swedish Vallhunds (short legged like a corgi but looks a lot like a wolf and was bred to look like one).

@@blackwolf9893 You would risk your life and the lives of people around you just to buy a backyard bred dog that might not even have any wolf in it? Getting a permit doesn't make it better, you also have to remember that they are illegal almost everywhere so check if you can even have one. Also the rabies vaccine isn't seen as valid in wolfdogs so if they bite or even nip once their head will have to be cut off to test for rabies. When pet wolves and wolf dogs end up biting or attacking people (in my home state an illegally owned pet wolf bit off a child’s hand), the headlines are widely seen and it hurts conservation efforts for wild wolves. Also, about 80% of wolfdogs are euthanized before their second birthday because they should not be pets and people can’t handle them.

Hello from Basque Country! Just a few weeks ago I had a conversation-debate with a couple of dog "owners" who stubbornly stated that the Checoslovaquian Wolf dog (I think one of your furry companions is of that breed) was actually a "tamed" wolf... This came to my mind when in the beginning of the video you said that sometimes there can be within them more wolf than dog (dramatic pause) character. I know that in an older video you spoke about the maximum percentage of wolf they can have by law, as well as one or two descendency gap from the true wolf that gave them their genes, and I'd be very grateful if you could point at the video where the subject is explained. You look great, as usual, and your videos just get better and better too. You are making a difference in this world, no doubt. Thank you.

Czechoslovakian wolfdogs aren’t tamed wolves, they’ve been bred Czechoslovakian wolfdog to Czechoslovakian wolfdogs for over 30 years now. They are trainable like the German shepherd which makes up 75% of their genes, but the 25% wolf can make them unpredictable so they don’t always choose to obey you. They are however one of the most solid of all the wolfdog breeds due to being bred with only Czechoslovakian wolfdogs for so many years. (Character and looks pretty much always the same)

yk, my uncle had a dog named king, he was a massive cane corso and he stood over 6’3 he was bred with a wolf and a cane corso and yes they are more wolf than dog, because king was so aggressive we had to get a gate that was over 8ft. and had to feed him by a mechanical stick or whatever you call it. when king was little , he mauled his sister, mayla and she has a large scar now. but the bite wasn’t fatal, but king was.

Why would anybody mix those? Cane Corsos already have severe aggression issues when bred badly and recently two killed a kid, Wolfdog breeders deserve to be in jail. There is no reason to breed Wolfdogs. It's just glamorized backyard breeding.

Why must people try so hard to possess such a creature? It is much easier and better for all involved to respect that creature within its natural environment, I feel.

A pure bred os easier to own training wise then a hybrid and isn't why most hybrid programs have existed. Wolves have larger brains and in some cases much better health due to genes. Higher bite force. Better sense of smell then scenting hounds and breeds. Better hearing then breeds known for their hearing being the strongest sense. Herding instincts are strong along with hunting. And they can course like a dedicated coursing or sight breed. Wolves have a gene lost in dogs allowing for reconciliation after fights. Dogs at best won't fight but will avoid each other. Wolves have better cause and effect comprehension. But lack human facial expression understanding genes and a few other things. Hybridization. Can give us a few genes from the wilf ancestor of the extinct Wolves that gave rise to dogs. And already have multiple times throughout history. People forget. German shepherds contain eolf dna. 5 to 7 percent. Usually untestable. Some lines as high as 12 to 15 percent. Sometimes testable. Working line Czech wolfdogs are better than German sheps albeit more expensive to train and breed. Most programs haven't been held long enough or kept to the right standards or kept diverse enough early on. Russia has a key example of grey wolf self domestication anyways. The same thing that happened with Wolves and dogs ancestors. Wolves also domesticated humans like bonobos domesticated themselves. We also helped domesticate ourselves. In a proper hybrid program. We can create dogs with advantages over normal dogs. Using modern wolf genes. Create a breed with the best wolf health genetics. Meaning large breeds that are healthy enough to hit 20 plus years. And have dog handlability but wolf senses. Wolves in some ways are more aggressive now then they uses to be. Partly due to humans. With the right breeding. You can create dogs that have a switch they can turn on. Bred right human pleasing levels high enough to ignore prey drive and aggression or flight or fight instincts. But when guard mode kicks on you could see levels. We did this over time with dogs after natural selection caused some Wolves to come to humans. And some humans started following Wolves. Domestication went both ways. But dogs have lost some stuff. There's also some genes that could be selectively bred for in 99.998 percent Wolves. That could be inserted into the wild to breed genes to help keep Wolves alive. Increase flight response to humans. Ability to better process and digest starch and fats and fiber. Help also increase genetic diversity in Wolves. And in some populations would allow for introduction of better genes into damaged gene pools. Some populations or sub species devastated by humans. Have wide spread genetic issues. Hip dysplasia. Certain cancer genes. Among others. Temporarily you'd end up woth less pure sub species. Till they slowly re sub speciate due to localities. For some sub species you wouldn't even notice. Why artif wolf genes and grey wolf genes are needed in any intelligent breed program trying to aim at higher wolf content. 25 percent is what some of the first German shepherds are. And the original stud book prior to modifications showed a few zoo Wolves that are known pure breds. There's a reason every more narrow gene pool program ends at around a similar wolf content. But there's 4 or 5 main gene differences personality wise between Wolves and dogs rhat make them different Domestication wise and raising them wise. And depends on which breeds we compare to which Wolves. But a few specific ones would allow for dog like trainable wolves. Or wolf like trainable dogs. However. There's a bunch in Wolves that would enhance dogs. And using a wild breed and very controlled breeding. Wr can avoid creating a dog that has 2 examples of Domestication syndrome. Which is smaller brains and bodies and less healthy. Artic wolf. Less fear. High curiosity. Human facial recognition. Training. Reconciliation useful and Also means if a fight breaks out any future attacks would be on the normal dogs genetics. Pack dynamics being more complex bur fitting master dog relationship. Wolves go very easy on their young. And younger Wolves know not to go full out on older pack members. That dynamic. With less pack climbing tendencies. Reconciliation genes. Larger brain power but dog trainability. Among other genes. Mean you have animals that'll be better with kids and can be trained kids are babies. Adults are all pack elders. Meaning they will genetically be programmed to hold back. They'd require high socialization levels. But no more then certain breeds but might need to start earlier. Given more fair pack dynamics. And willing to allow dominating type play from dogs it sees below itself as long as it's fair. Means dominating dogs will have a harder time starting fights. And there will be more warning and dog behavior corrections. Easier to spot a fight for owners. Downsides. Once the aggression switch does kick on. It'll be worse then a kangal. Even if it is controllable. So not the best for police work. However done right its controllable. Easily. Unless something else pushes the issue. Also means if a human bite does happen. It can reconcile and won't just try and eat that person if it's a serious bite and not like a warning bite. Actually makes the animal less dangerous as it won't try and kill the person next time they get to close. Cause and effect understanding being higher also helps. It'll probably take 2 or 3 generations of breed program leaders. Or someone devoting an entire life and using opf hybrid lines to help. But gets us 1000 years ahead of we ever decided to create a fully domesticated grey wolf divergent line. Take about 100 years of breeding. Probably only 5 generations after the initial foundation stock crossings before stable enough animals to be homed are available as part of the breeding program to more regular families on a consistent basis. Once finalized. 3 to 6 generations and they won't test as hybrids anymore generally although can depend. You'll just see admixture levels consistent with some multi generational sled dog lineages with alot of wolf lineage and recent wolf lineage. It would however require a hell of alot of genetic sequencing. But you'd end up with a supermutt of dogs and wolves. That'd literally beat out a perfect supermutt using every dog breed and specialized for individual jobs. As a general purpose working breed with some companion type animals and potentially companion type or pet grade lines. As long as health and temperment breeders created the standard before handing it off to show line breeders. You can prevent the show line breeders from doing too much damage. Although pet grade types breeding over sized or backyard breeder types. But done properly with wider genetic diversity. During bottlenecking for breed standardization and removing unwanted wolf genes. You can also remove the health problems genetics wise of some foundation stock. Hence wide af gene pool and foundation stock. And speciric selection. Prior to the bottlenecking you can't have any inbreeding. And during bottlenecking you try to avoid it. Not always possible and not possible in more regular programs unless they start out huge with certain breeds. And continue for a long ass time or creating many many animals quickly. However. Some advantages. In the process. You'd get a pointy eared type dog at some point or dogs. Genetically unique enough from all foundation breeds. And Any related breeds, that's genetically standardized enough but healthy enough to use in outcrossing programs for numerous breeds. In theory. Could be combined with numerous smart breed choices. To help save those breeds. While also being used to help save multiple other breeds or outcross and back cross and inbreed outbreed to remove certain health issues in Spitz breeds. Save the sakhalin husky. Labrador husky. While giving the gene pool divsetity to help prevent loss of coat colors or other stuff in both breeds. While preventing hip and other genetic issues. Along with the Canadian eskimo and Greenland dogs. While keeping the Eskimos almost pure and the Greenland dogs only adultered with yet to be genetically distinct or divergent eskimo dogs. While using the hybrid eskimo dogs to help other breeds and slowly increase pure Eskimos. Bottlenecking removes the genes you don't want or limits it enough you can't notice. Controlled breeding from there prevents any gene drift in the local breeds besides what they'd normally get. The mutts from the saved breeds can be used to help a wolf hybrid program while also helping create a healthy genetically diverse wolf line used to help remove gene issues in local populations. And creating the supermutt wolf hybrids. All have shared ancestry and related genetics. Some closer then others. But mixing creates more like the primitive ancestral breeds and primitive non breed dogs. Take a long time. But we'd have breeds saved. Breeds healthier then they are now. Prevent character losses in breeds. And have a more effienct process of it. Helps wild wolves and captive bred programs. And dogs as eventually we can use individual animals to help breeds. Hip gene donor dog. Or reconciliation genes. The age based pack dynamics. Or introduce starch fiber and fat specializations to wild wolves to help them survive. Or flight response to introduce ghost wolf genes. Where you just stop seeing wild wolves.

Wolfdogs are cool but it's like taking care of a human child. It takes huge responsibility to own a wolfdog. Surprising that most people have a responsibility to own wolfdogs.

I have 11 wolf dog puppies, but mine will be small. From birth to 6 weeks old daily videos. You can find me on you tube. I had one born with green spots. I call her ivy. I have a cinnamon with Perriwinkle eyes. How cool is that? Mine are just 6 weeks old.

I get that you love wolves, who doesnt.... They are amazing animals. I was hoping you were gonna bring awareness to the awful exotic pet trade, but I think you are happy to promote it and use that controversy to squeeze out whatever profit you can. I think you should stop promoting Wolfdogs and stick to dog breeds. Dipping your toe in the lake of controversy might bring you clicks and views, however it might not bring the desired outcome down the road. Just ask Joe Exotic and the rest of the fruitcake dirtbags who exploit animals for profit. How bad do you wanna be famous? My advice, don't take the low road. Work harder to put out quality content. Your reputation is in your hands.

I know it's a very cruel thing to breed a wolf and dog together. Man evil minds and hands can't just things alone. Stop playing GOD. You are just adding to already over population of dogs that millions get killed every day. WOLVES and DOGS r my LOVES of my HEART. I always wanted a WOLF HYBRID but I started getting smart and changed my MIND. Y must be a certain kind of person to give these BEAUTIFUL wolf HYBRID the LOVE, COMPASSION, COURAGE, COMFORT and KNOWLEDGE to HELP THEM BE CONFIDENT in their own skin.

Please stop glamorizing wolfdog breeding. They should not be bred and its extremely unethical to do so. There is no valid reason to breed one. They are not pets.

@@Nened1971 Them being beautiful doesn't make it ethical to breed them. Double merle dogs are beautiful but they're extremely unethical to breed because of deafness and skin issues, lions and tigers are beautiful but is it ethical to breed them and sell them as pets to people? No. Purposely breeding a wild animal (wolf) with a domesticated dog for a designer wolfdog is wrong in every way. They have no purpose, standard, or job. They're mutts bred for looks and for people to show them off. So many people, mostly kids have been brutally mauled to death by wolfdogs. There's no reason to breed them.

Wolf dogs should not exist, other than by accidental/natural means. They are at an instant disadvantage. They will never be as efficient in the wild and same goes for in captivity. It is very cruel.
