I find his stories very plausible. I used to bebop around Manhatten as a teenage kid in the Seventies. I saw top celebrities often throughout Midtown- albeit less so on the sidewalks after Lennon was shot. In general back then, many beautiful Manhatten women looked for young guys to play with. He was a good looking kid with Mafia ties from downtown but not an outright alley fighter per se. The world of hotels and escorts were part of organized crime of course. In the Fifties and Sixties a woman needed a man on their shoulder to keep from being bothered by aggressive men in a club or out late at night - thus the male escort ( particularly one that could handle the streets and fightnlike him.) Restaurants and clubs were of course very closely tied to the mob. I think many of his stories are quite likely to have happened. He was from Mulberry St. but was a handsome trusted go-for and sufficiently capable of defending the girls (ex. Kelly or Hepburn) while not being an outright thug. I could see him as a good escort for these young up and coming stars visiting from LA. Wasn't Mr. Franzese in Long Island playing little league baseball when this was happening? What did he know about that level of activity on the Manhatten club/hotel scene back then. This handsome Little Italy kid then as an adult becomes a successful club owner in that world himself. About the celebrity women with him, what's not to believe?
