This was the anthem of the 1990 World Cup in Italy but the images are from the 2006 World Cup. However, Gianna Nannini deserves to be heard in other songs.

Gianna Nannini has one of the most powerfull voice in pop-rock music, and this is one of the best songs in pop-rock history.
The first version of this song was in english: "To be number one", written as anthem for the World Football Championship in Italy (1990). Soon after the first listening anyway Giorgio Moroder (composer and producer of the song) thought something was missed in it. So he decided to make a second version in italian. This is one of the most "pop" italian pieces of that decade. I think Nannini's 'Fotoromanza' (1984), 'Bello e impossibile' 1986), 'I maschi' (1987), 'Meravigliosa creatura' (1995) or 'Sei nell'anima' (2006) can say much more about the singer.

Italy won the European Champion ship last year...well deserved!-- I have liked Gianna since she first had been aired in the 70s... Isn't Italian the most beautiful language? As a second foreign language I had to choose between French and Latin. Wished I had taken the latter, since it would be easier to understand Italian.

gianna nannini is one of my favourite singer been listening to her for many years and im a spaniard from south america. gianna has a brother who was a racer in F1 and he crashed and has been handicapped for many years. Americans have no idea of her other amazing songs.
