One of my heroes! Impressive achievement! And he rides the best and most beautiful sounding bikes ever, MV AGUSTA!

I was fortunate enough to see him at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed as he was trickling his MV3 down to the start. He passed close to us, and the rasping of the engine made the hairs on the neck tingle! He'd turned 80 during the previous week. When asked during an interview who his competitors had been back in the day, he replied: "Everybody!"

Italian pizazz , Spanish wife , Japanese motorcycle , American sponsorship and a German automobile. You can say the Ago was a man of the world.

Shocking. Ha ha. Better late than never.

Watched Ago in the '69 German GP, atrocious weather. Timed him over a mile of CORNERS & He was far faster than any other rider. Forza Ago.

A great rider, but more than half his titles were unchallenged. Between 1968 & 1972 there wasn't a bike or rider in the 350 & 500cc class that could compete. Saarinnen in '72 was the first to challenge him in the 350 class and then in the 500 class in 73. Ago's best years are those where he had to work for his prizes. 66/67 & 75 500cc titles and the '72, '73 & '74 350cc titles. For those alone, he is a legend.
