"Ghosts of Devil's Den" Gettysburg, Sept. 18, 2019

Join us as I explore the Slaughter Pen near Devil's Den with Ronald Kirkwood, author of "Too much for Human Endurance: The George Spangler Farm Hospitals and the Battle of Gettysburg." I had no prior knowledge of where Ron was taking me and am completely unfamiliar with the area. Facebook: William Stillman Psychic Medium or www.williamstillman.com. If you go to Plum Run at night when no one else is around, stay quiet and audio record right at the stream and the rocks, you will pick up many evps which are mostly residual like orders being given, drum calls, gunshots, painful moans and more. There's thousands of books on the battle but none, not even one can allow you to listen to the actual sounds of the battle.

I've read some fascinating experiences from people who were in the Devils Den/Plum Run area just before the park closes at 9pm. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Back in '09 my wife and I (along with a mother and her ten year old son) took a tour of the field hospitals with Miss Betty and I personally witnessed three of the camcorders in our small group go dead at the exact same time when we were at the water's edge at Sachs Bridge...only seconds before it occurred they were fully charged. Not to mention a couple seconds before the camcorders died Miss Betty said something had touched her leg. We also had a cool experience at The Grove which is located near the Middle School.

This makes hairs on my arm rise. I'm watching him describe the battle along Plum "Bloody" Run as if I'm a reb soldier in the thick of the fight. I knew the moment that I saw the 140th NY monument around the 2:00 mark that this would be a stark experience. Then when he gestures back to Little Round Top at 5:12 saying "over that way" it's chilling. Anyone who has studied July 2 1863 knows what happened here.

@@williamstillman8543 I want to also add that at another moment that stuck me was at 25:20 you begin spinning a circle saying that you don't know which way is up - that things are confusing. At that moment you were standing between Devil's Den and the base of Little Round Top. Men surged back and forth in that spot the afternoon of July 2 1863. In Devil's Den itself the rocks changed sides 4-5 times. Blue and Grey intermingled in chaotic confusion with men firing at each other in outrageous close quarters. Stories of men fighting with knives, pistol shots, rifle butts, even rocks and bare hands. Where you were spinning that circle there would have been moments where soldiers were lost from their units. Gunpowder smoke obscured vision. The noise would gave deafened. Later the rebel units would take control of the ground and then attempt to push up Little Round Top to be driven back many times. The area you were in is often described as the most haunted ground on the battlefield. There have been reports of paranormal activity there for years.

He came around the back of Devil’s Den near our parked car and grinned because I was trying to light a cigar in the wind and having no luck. I had a great great uncle I believe that was a Union sharpshooter the was in Devil's Den during the battle. There was a newspaper article telling his story but my relative never gave me the clipping and his tin type photograph back after the passing of my great aunt in 2005. 31:55 He said they came up from “safety” over there. Where they came up from wasn’t safe at all, it was the triangular Battlefield. There was hard fighting in the field. The Texas brigade finally over ran the federal and headed into devils den. Far from safe. The guy also mentioned skirmishing. In the slaughter pan it was just a straight up Confederate battle line attacking that position, no skirmishing took place there.

    I want to believe him but I can’t. Who hasn’t heard of Devil’s Den? Lots of generalities...oh, I see a limb...c’mon now!

Sorry to disappoint you MrBaker1ify. Honestly. I have zero interest in the Civil War and truly never heard of Devil's Den -- just not my thing. Check out my other videos if this did not move you.

William Stillman I apologize. I am a Civil War buff and it’s hard for me to imagine someone not ever hearing of Devil’s Den. I have a picture of a very-well-formed ectoplasm and several orbs from the Wheatfield at night. I will check your other info.

@@peteraldridge5210 Hi Peter, no sarcasm was intended on my part whatsoever. I regret you interpreted my comment in that manner. I understand and respect that you are a non-believer -- no need to apologize for that at all. I am, myself, quite skeptical. My favorite saying is, "Not everything is something!" I am wishing you all the very best, truly. I have a new video posting soon!
