The cartoon portion is made from a technique called rotoscoping in which the artist traces over real life footage frame by frame. Koko the clown was the first time this was used to create a more fluid motion. They filmed a man dancing around in a clown costume in front of a white sheet. It changed the game at the time, vicarious after images drawn and pieced together. Like the ghost of the man they filmed.

You all are in a different world than me. I went through USN "A School" 'many moons ago', and the last damn thing that militaries want to teach ordinary stripes is how to think (critically and independently). I retaught myself how to think critically after my discharge, and the understanding (which came much later) that even us _homo sapiens_ are emotionally oriented and motivated, changed how I understood science and society. Cognitive biases, instinctual judgments, and sequential/repetitive exposure all shape individual and public opinion. It's in the advertising everywhere, most people just can't (or don't want to) see it. A nod to you psy spooks. I plan to write a paper someday on cognitive bias & creativity in scientific research.

I always wondered how luck continuously found me. Not so much anymore. I’m tired, but I’ll see it through.

This is a creepy, disturbing, and completely brilliant video. If people get nothing else out of this video, hopefully they understand the benefit of not taking everything at face value. There was a time when the saying, "Question everything" was popular. Today, however, we live in a society where very few people are interested in the truth, but only in confirmation of what they already believe. It's why memes, KZread/TikTok videos, Social Media, and pretty much every other form of media and communications are so effective, very few people even think of verifying what they read or hear, if it confirms their views, they accept it as the truth, repost, or spread the information to others just like them. Psyops, or anyone with a goal or agenda must find it very easy to manipulate people in today's world. The US isn't the only nation doing it. If, as Shakespeare wrote, and the video quoted, "All the world's a stage ( and all the men and women merely players)", then the purpose is to make the play seem real, but the story was created by the writer and implemented by the director. The players are merely guided by the script. "Question everything" is always great advice, especially when you question your own views and beliefs.

The video can be interpreted multiple ways. I all depends on worldview. Maybe 30% of the population thinks the opposite of reality. What's scary is that many of the Jan 6 rioters thought they were being patriotic and were storming the capitol to save democracy. They cared so much, they were willing to take huge risks. They were just disinforned. This video wasn't published on Jan 7 last year. It was published during the Ukraine offensive, where psyops might be tasked against Russian assets in the US.

Psychological Operations have a very interesting history in warfare as a way influence and shape the enemy. I would highly recommend looking into Project Humidor (false North Vietnamese uprising) and Operation Wandering Soul/Ghost Tape Number 10 from the Vietnam War if you are interested in this kind of stuff. PSYOPS can be as simple as dropping leaflets and playing radio broadcasts, and as complex as convincing an enemy to join a completely made up revolution. All PSYOP conspiracy theories aside, this is a very well done recruitment video

Using psychological warfare on the enemy is perfectly reasonable, but when it's being used on ones own countrymen then you have to ask if you are a patriot or the enemy of the nation you swore to protect. I hope all involved will resist manipulating their own countrymen, but history doesn't offer much hope.
