One of the HasLab workers - Emily has confirmed that the "press and hold" functionality of the trap pedal will be replaced by just pressing the pedal to open it, then it'll close or you can close it manually via the pedal again. This was confirmed in a HasLab Ghostbusters Proton Pack club chat I'm in via a friend who asked the same question on reddit :)

@@oppenheimer11 in gb1 and afterlife it was step and trap opened, then trap closed again after a few minutes. It was different in gb2 where it was step and hold then release step and trap would close

It's a no brainer, when a company makes 1 to 1 scale items and it's done right it will always make a good investment, this along with the proton pack is the ultimate collectors package. This will send mint boxed proton packs thro the roof. Thanks hasbro......

I'm with you. I've back it & really am thinking of buying a 2nd one as well. What's better than one thing I've wanted since I was a child and that's 2 of them! I loved GB as a kid and am over the moon that the gear is being made with so much detail and love. I want all the things & my 10 year old self 100% agrees.

This Stuff is like every Kids dream of the Years before 2000ish... 92 born and I love Ghostbusters... this is like a childhood dream!!

Personally some gear I only wear for Costume Contests and stuff (like all the belt gadgets) but I don't wear that stuff to parties 'cause it can be easily broken or get caught on stuff. I had a pair of home-depot built goggles at one point, and it wasn't such a big deal when they broke at a party. I'd have been devestated to break haslab gear at a party.

Backed it when it went live, almost at unlock tier 2. Haslabs know the fanbase will buy this stuff up. Id lOoOoOove them to do the Ghost sniffer, Giga Meter, Ecto Goggles w/poloroid, r/c Trap, Slime Blower w/tank and the Containment unit. All the stuff weve NEVER had before. Already have the Matty Collector PKE and as per my missus gave me the eye roll when I backed it. When this sh* t becomes reality, YOU BUY IT.. NO QUESTIONS ASKED, TAKE MY DAMN MONEY!! But jeez.. the wait 🙄 All best from up the road 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

being realistic, how many people are gonna rush to break open their wallets for a prop that was on screen for a single scene for a couple hundred bucks. the ecto goggles with the instax though that would be an incredible invention and i have no doubt that would get some interest.

I have the Matty PKE and a Custom build Trap but I still backed this! this trap has more functions than mine and the PKE is the afterlife version so bonus ! I do think the Matty PKE looks better though with the arm controls where the taser switch is

The haslab is also going to have a real built in EMF detector as well.

They look absolutely amazing. One nitpick I’ve noticed is that the PKE meters arms are a bit smaller then most which is weird. Hope that gets changed if Adam savage points it out if they do visit him again.

Anyone know what the air hose quick connect fittings are for? There is one of them near the trap, and another near the foot pedal. Neither appear to be needed to operate the trap as both remained in the glass case.

Just backed this project, will go nicely with the Spengler pack and wand 😀

You know what I’m hoping for, and it’ll probably never happen but I want the RTV that’d be awesome to have as a prop, even if it was not as screen accurate as the original prop I still think it’d be cool, that or the ecto goggles with that Polaroid camera on the top 😂 but I’ve backed the project and I can’t wait to get these AMAZING props when they’re released!!!

So of course I'm gonna back it regardless, but...was there sound coming from the prototype PKE? I desperately want one with screen accurate sounds.

No sound on the one they had there, but she said it wasn’t the finished model, more like a place holder, but am quite certain we’ll get screen accurate sounds on the final piece.

It does have sound effects. The prototype apparently did, but was not turned up when I was there. Covered up?? None of the sound came out on the mic with the background noise of a venue full of 68,000 people, thus music over the top.

I realize they’re preproduction.. but I hope the trap opening mechanism works at least a little better than that.. they don’t often open passed 90 degrees like they should.. and I hope that pke meter is just a glorified shell because I don’t like the looks of any aspect of how it functions

Have to be honest, I’m not sure, but I think they looked to be. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me. It got a bit busier once they came out of the cabinet, wish I’d thought to check.

Not a huge fan of the trap door opening mechanism, those giant plastic arms connected to the doors. They keep saying "scanned from the actual prop", but those aren't on the movie props for sure. Mattel's trap didn't have them, either. Kind of ugly. Course, these could still be in the prototype stage, so... Who knows.

@@oppenheimer11 I'm not saying that they didn't actually scan the prop, I'm just saying that took some liberties with the design. That weird "arm" mechanism is definitely unique to this trap.

The haslab woman likely broke the prop pke meter by forcing the mechanical wings down a couple times. After that, it wouldn't function and one wing was stuck down. Too bad she didn't get shown once how to operate them.

Hoping if we back this they'll finally stop screwing around with Afterlife and give us a PROPER Proton Pack. Not dropping $500 on something I need to mod right out of the box in order to be the thing I actually want.

This is subjective but I think in my own opinion, the props from afterlife look aesthetically better than the 84 gear, this is subjective tho
