These are really well designed bosses. Not only are they mechanically interesting but they all feel right at home in this universe!

Always wanted to own this game, but I'll gladly just keep replaying the 2009 game from Atari. Made me feel like a real Ghostbuster, and it was technically the third movie (not Feig's atrocity).

Aubrey Junior was the Plant's name. I saw the original black & white Little Shop of Horrors movie, a young Jack Nicholson cameoed in a scene where he played a dental patient.

This is INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to do! Top marks. I have done it without losing a life, but no hits?!

The soundtrack is awesome. I played it yesterday and I took the time to listen carefully to some songs, there are some great tunes. I like the song that plays when the hauntings are described.

at the end game credits you can see the ninja turtles balloon floating by.....hence leading to the ninja turtles and ghostbusters crossover

My mom just sent me a drawing a did as a kid of all bosses of this game. I immediatly remember this awesome game

So for the eyeball egg boss at about 11:30 into the video, it would have made my life a lot easier if I had known you could shoot his laser

God the issues I had with that plant boss lol I never realised I was hurting the damn thing until it changed colour, then joy oh joy you fight IT along with all the other bosses AGAIN in the pit lol

I guess the score counter was just an afterthought in this game-it’s only shown when you’ve completed the game, or get a “game over” with no continues left. (The pause menu doesn’t even show it, either-just the money you have accumulated.) Weird...

at 9:57 - what happens if he jump, grabs the piece of the puzzle in mid-air, but landed in the fire ditch between the two platforms? Do you still win?

Wow! I always passed that game up as a kid because I figured it was just like the NES version. That game has amazing graphics for the time frame! Was that a huge cartridge?

It's a normal 16 bit kind actually. I regret selling it when I was younger because I freaked out badly, and I was only able to get to the final boss but on the part where she detaches from the mound, that was it, I couldn't win... x_x'

Who's Jenna? Was she from the cartoon series? I know she wasn't from the original movies. I don't know when this game was made, but if Ghostbusters 2 was out at the same time, they should have considered Viggo as a boss villain.

so the bosses are: gentleman with no body, i donno, Some Weird Banshee type ghost, diamond creature, Creepy frosty the snowman, the human torch's evil brother, red dragon, Satan's face (i gess?), centipede with lots of eyes, Ball in a cage, Demon that looks like the fluffyest thing ever, evil ghostbuster, skeleton with a robe and sythe, another evil ghostbuster, green harry worm, frog/plant hybrid, and... umm

The bosses in this game are so tenacious and their movements are pretty much unpredictable. Beat this game as a kid and again 30 years later, but only once each time. It's hard work. Centipede and Slime Worm were the worst for me. And the Marshmallow Man - so tough! And of course Jenna. Oof.

Never played this but so far looks a million times better than the NES Nintendo #Ghostbusters game. Haven't yet played the Atari (2600?) GB game but believe I have the ROM to play it. And the controls on the PS2 game from a few years ago were MFing atrocious, the only time I ever pre-ordered something. Will have to get the ROM to play this Sega Genesis GB game, at least to battle Stay-Puff!

I never owned a Genesis, but this looks way better than the NES abomination.

Boss 3, Evil Wraith totally reminds me of the female ghost in the first movie's montage sequence. We think she's the ghost who took Ray's virginity! Now he's busting her? One hell of a way to show his gratitude.

I was 11 years old when this came out in 1990. When my mom bought this for me and my brother it was $64. I remember her saying you better play this game to the very end and beat it a dozen times for that price lol. When I was younger she bought Karnov for the NES that game was the absolutely the worst game. That game was $45 and I played it for like 30 minutes and I was highly pissed. We didn't have KZread in those days to preview game you either bought it or walked away. It was a shitty game. Ghostbusters for the Genesis was well worth the money! 10 out of 10

The Phaser Shell, used on Janna (19:27), is better and best 4 the scary Audrey II wannabe. (17:11)

Who's Jenna? I don't recall that character in the 2 80's movies or the cartoon show. I know Stay Puft was from GB 1 & Viggo the Carpathian was from GB 2.

Have you done a boss rush of Godzilla: King of Monsters (I think that was the name. Either that or it was Monster of Monsters) for NES? (Godzilla would be the best choice for the bosses, though Mothra can fly sooo........ yeah)

Yes. Ironically, the 2 you fight aren't affected by the speed and endurance rating they had at the selection screen and are average (Peter has average speed and endurance, Ray is slow, but tough, Egon is fast but weak).
