McKenna Grace absolutely KILLED it in this role. She channeled Egon in an amazing and unique way. That perfect casting choice made the movie as good as it was. They didn't dismiss the fact that the original Ghostbusters existed. They embraced it and honored it. Hollywood should take some notes.

Mckenna grace and finn did an amazing job and thier charecters were really interesting but I couldn't like the movie. It didn't have the right feel that a Ghostbuster movie should have. They decided to take a more serious route with this movie and all the charm and humor that made the first 2 Ghostbuster movies so great was gone and it took over an hour of boring charecter building before they even fought the first ghost. The only reason why fans like this movie is because they are getting so hyped up everytime the movie shows some kind of referance to the previous movies that they are blind to the many flaws of the movie.

@@danielorourke6922 The way i see it, the part you thought boring is what looks damn interesting to so many of us out here. honoring the original & keeping the spirit is good enough. we're NOT looking for the new film to be a carbon copy of the old. it DOESN'T need to capture every damn thing the originals embodied. if they wanna take this one seriously instead of being jokey like the originals, so be it, & judging from how so many of the fans react to it, well most of us apparently LOVE it. reference is what got us hyped no doubt, but what made it so great in our eyes is because it's still at the end of the day, its own thing, despite referencing so heavily from the originals, which is something almost impossible to do. Phoebe Spengler, despite being a spitting image of her grandfather, is still her own person instead of 'Egon Spengler reincarnate'. finally, we're NOT loving the film because we're blind to its flaws; we're loving the film IN SPITE OF its flaws. huge difference there.

@@FalconWindblader agreed, this movie was to introduce and cement the new generation of GBers in this time and age... they’ve already hinted a sequel happening, but I can mostly see a spinoff of sort: an animated series like that of The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters happening... hopefully so, since the story has a new chapter, featuring the Spangler family.

After watching Ghostbuster Afterlife, it was well worth the wait. What Mckenna said about the emotions generated from this movie, yes, it's downright emotional all right! I was raised in the era of the original Ghostbusters and to see this and the tribute they did for Harold, it's just amazing. I can say I did get emotional and I can speak for many out there that I'm sure it hit each one of us deep in some way. When a movie does that to you, you know it's a great movie. Don't trust the critics and believe in their crap. They go by technical aspects of every film ever released so they will never praise any film no matter how good they are. Instead, go by the general audience, the consumers, the people. We know better and this movie hit a home run!!!

One of the most brilliant jokes ever written is the elevator scene in the hotel after Egon has explained that the proton packs are essentially nuclear bombs: they look nervously at the pack and take a few steps back. The joke doesn't even have a single word of dialogue. If that scene had been written today it would've been 2 minutes long, filled to the brim with dialogue overexplaining the joke to the point of completely losing the punchline, and then ending with a character doing something goofy just to get a snicker out of the audience.

The cast is great, particularly McKenna Grace and Logan Kim, who were amazing, and of course Paul Rudd. It's genuinely moving, because you care about the characters, it's also really funny. The score has nods to the original film, and adds to the already beautifully crafted atmosphere. And I think it needs to be seen in the cinema. You can tell the director, Jason Reitman, son of the first films director, Ivan Reitman, truely loves the subject matter, a really great Ghostbusters film.

I wish I could have watched this with my GrandPa and Father, too bad they both passed away in a 4 year span. They brought me to see GB 2 in a cinema, and GB was one of the first VHS my father ever recorded from a tv airing. A lot of emotions bursted out when Egon appeared helping his niece, and when Winston, Peter, and Ray saw him, I simply couldn't hold it anymore, I bursted into tears, smiling at the same time. Childhood moments, memories, all of it bursting out. This is a movie about legacies, about family, about friendship. Please, please if the issues you have with your loved ones are reasonable and can be worked out, pick up the phone, drive to their address, whatever. Don't let the love you had for each other become a ghost of the past. Thanks Jason Reitman and thanks Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, thanks to all the crew of the movie. Will go to watch this again, this was one of the best Christmas presents we could get. Keep busting, Keep loving. A big hug from Italy.
