What happens is that you're trying to get your character in running mode before jumping so that the game detects it and makes you go further, so my advice would be to try jumping almost instantly after L3 so that you don't waste time, momentum not distance

Wait for the platforms to disapear. This should solve your issue. Your character is searching for a platform so you want them to dissapear first.

19:06 can explain how do you change the direction during midair? Is the active fire blade skill the main reason on why you able to adjust the posture and change direction midair? Mine stay at lying on the ground posture after I've managed to launch myself to midair because my katana don't have the active skill like you did...
