I make and restore leather products in my spare time, mostly bags, backpacks and small items like wallets and card-holders. I am still learning a ton every time I take on a new project and always appreciate feedback on my creations.
For the moment I don't take orders as I like to spend too many hours getting the finished product as good as I can : this means that if I were to sell these bags, the selling price would be way more than the bags are worth due to the hours of work involved.
As always, do let me know what you think of this creation and this video. If you have any tips or comments about the techniques used, please let me know by dropping a comment below this video :)

Very nice. I like both diamond and French pricking irons. Too many leather people on KZread using round hole irons with 4, 5, or 6mm spacing. On things like wallets and watch straps it looks silly, but I think that even larger pieces like bags or briefcases look better with tighter, slanted stitching. And that ghost leather is beautiful. Ahhhh, so much leather and so little time.

Your leathercrafting itself is a wonderful think to watch, but you also add some exemplary parenting in action! Thank you so much, you gives u hope that even after being father we can still responsibly pursue this hobby/career 😂

I may be wrong with this one but usually water based glue should be used like contact cement. Apply on both faces, allow to dry a few minutes until barely tacky then press parts together. And yes too much of it obviously. That's probably why you find it to work not as good as neoprene glue. Les commentaires de Jeanne m'ont bien fait rigoler aussi ! 😁

Not all water based, no. For example, Renia Aquilim 315 requires only one surface to be treated and can be applied and put together wet or treated as a contact cement with both sides, leaving to tack.

@@recif77 You're welcome. I switched to 315 years ago because it's the only water based adhesive that holds like a regular contact cement. Also helps that it doesn't have VOCs in it, so you can use it in an enclosed room without damaging your brain.
