Ludo thank you so much for uploading this vlog. The mission/tour group I was with visited Elmina. But the closest we were allowed to get to the fish market and boats was from the bridge. That was a lot of meat the ladies were cutting up from the hammer shark. I especially enjoyed walking in the midst of all the activity and being so close to the boats. This fills the missing gaps of my visit. Your tour guide at the castle was the same one we had. But you were shown some parts of the castle that I was not shown. The fifteen consecutive back flips caught my attention. Wow!

FYI at the time the Asante Chief and Yaa Asantewaa were captured which was the late 1800s-early1900s respectively, the slave trade had already been abolished decades ago by the British in 1807 and the Dutch in 1814. Although others continued what was known as the illegal trade, the capture of the Asante leaders had nothing to do with the slave trade. The Brits just wanted to eliminate the Asante empire and consolidate the Gold Coast and Asante territories into one colony

I was intrigued by your profile picture. It appears to be a very old photo. It shows a young African woman in African attire, and behind her, an African man in colonial-style attire, with the pants, shirt and hat that the colonizers wore aduring their expeditions ? That's a very interesting and nice picture. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting

Ludo, I had two episodes today, the wonderful ride earlier. You asked if one would ride in the back seat of bike, I said no, nope! I’m a back seat driver, applying brakes in a car, need water//bathroom breaks often. LOL!You would probably dump me. This trip has been simply amazing, though I notice your hand touching your ribs. You sacrifice your physical body, energy, mental and spiritual capabilities in the quest of improving your content/visual endeavors to please your viewers. I’m very happy to have found the Episode of ELMina fish market and Castle (dungeons). I felt life, the sea, smell of fresh fish, sweat, strong women waiting for the fish, the fishermen bringing in the bounty of the ocean. You had a special tour of ElMina, you were taken into the governor’s chambers. Education & explanation on how canons arrived, who placed them there. Despite the atrocities, in your replies to comments, your heart was open, your love for AFRICA quite evident. Thank you, Merci, Gracias for teaching/touching so many lives.

On my soap box today, as you'd think considering that as this is one of the most important historical points in Africa, the Ghanaian government would encourage cleanliness in the markets and beach surrounds. This is the most littered and disorganised I've seen in Ghana. I had to skip past large chunks of the market scenes, especially chopping up fish people will buy and eat on the same well trodden filthy floor they all walk on. Nah! Thumbs up 👍for the historical tour and 👎thumbs down for the market scene. That level of littering with plastic bottles and bags is totally unnecessary IMHO!😏

You would be surprised how food is treated here in America. You just don't see it. A Popeye fast food was just closed down because they had several large rates running around, I counted about 30. Not to mention all the chemicals that the animals are pumped up with, that we consume every day. What about our GMO foods. I can go on ,but I think not.

@@taharka3897 thanks, it's the same in the UK but as you say, you just don't see it. I don't like seeing it...ignorance as they say is bliss. But I do get your point.

@@Ludo_Liu Thanks Ludo, you know I never see anything or say anything negative about Ghana, especially their markets, but this definitely threw me. I can't criticise Nigeria and not say when I also see the same thing I've criticised there, here 🙃

bro how do you buy your coffee when you are in the European parliament in brussel ? i think one of your daily coffee is the price of 8 months membership on the channel. I am actually thinking to increase it soon, and create some proper value to the membership with some nice content dedicated to members
