I just completed free shs here in Ghana and it was amazing. We got free text and exercise books. Free uniforms and we didn't pay for our feeding and school fees. This policy is very beneficial to most Ghanaians now and we are more than thankful to the government of Ghana and our amazing president , his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.

There is no harm in trying, Nigeria is rich and can afford free secondary education for it's citizens if only the leaders are willing to do it

Wouldn't make sense to ask experts in Ghana to comment as surely they would closer to the situation be able to provide the facts "on the ground"

Yea you see, if a new awareness like this, that the rescources of the country is to be effectively and properly used for the country and its citizenry spreads across Africa, instead of being upharzadly squandered, then we will be entering a new dawn of prosperity for our continent. The rescources of a country is for its entire citizenry and not for any select few.

Nigeria media please stop comparing Ghana to Nigeria . We Ghanaians also have our very important internal issues that confront us. Nigeria is has a population of 200m citizens . How can you compare it to Ghana of just 30m. Stop this reportage so that we will not attract hatred from our neighbours in and out of our country

I am a Ghanaian, and i can say for sure Ghana also learns a lot from Nigeria in terms of governance and business. You may not have seen that on live TV but it's all over the place. The current local government system and the decentralization agenda Ghana wants to implement was borrowed from Nigeria cus they Nigeria have practiced the federal system for a long time. We were in Ghana when a one time aviation minister questioned why air tickets and visa fees are cheaper in Nigeria compared with Ghana; and that Ghana can also learn to protect her citizens interest. When Ghana had oil a lot of Nigerian Engineers and oil experts came to help. Till today i know there are many Nigerians and other expats still training Ghanaians in the oil and gas industry.

This is all very good but what use is to churn out all these educated people when the economy cannot absorb them only for our princes and princesses to be doing cleaning jobs in other countries? They should fix the economy while they are at it.
