In this video I'm going to demonstrate, how to set your lights and in camera settings for a dramatic cinematic look on the GH5! I didn't apply any color grading. It's just the pure image quality what you'll see of the GH5, when it's properly set up for the scene you're about to shooting in.
I also created a playlist with some more tutorials like requested. So check up my playlist (GH5 TUTORIALS) Maybe there is something you're looking for.
If you haven't, I recommend you to download the Panasonic Image App from the App Store or play store. It works for iPhone, Android, iPad and Tablet's as well.
Thank you a lot for the big support I'm getting. Check up my Instagram or Twitter for in between post's that I'm often do and for some more requests.
I'm enjoying making these videos for you as a big thank you for your interest and support KEN SLYDER

I never knew what the master pedestal was. Every time I watch one of your videos, I learn something new. Your content is slept on. Keep doing your thing. You are highly valued and appreciated.

Thank you so much. Yes with the Master Pedestal level you can increase or decrease your black levels. And it helps to make your image look less contrasty depending on the look you want to get in camera. You can still bring the blacks back in post. But it's nice to be able to make these changes in camera. This function is disabled if you shoot in Log. Because Log is already the flattest profile you have in camera. I appreciate your support!
Another great high level video! I really like the frame and it sure looks cinematic. It reminded me of the movie The Village (2004). You explain things very well. This is talent. Thank you!

Beautiful! I like the warm on your face. What effect will have the green light?

Thank you! Unfortunately the green light wasn't strong enough to bring the trim light for a better separation on my face from the background. The effect should result like a 3D pop. Maybe I'll handle it on my next video.

Why did you change the settings like saturation, and contrast etc. inside the camera. Is it not easier to do all that later in the color grading process? I am trying to understand if there is a difference or benefit when changing the values while shooting like you did.

Because when you do everything in camera first, like setting white balance saturation contrast, the Panasonic colors will adjust it the best way. Remember when you set the white balance, all colors will change. So letting it do it in camera, Panasonic will shift all colors to the right position. If you do it in post, it can happen that you'll get some strange colors. I believe in Panasonic Ingenieur, they are pros in their job. So do it in camera first, will make it easier for you making fine adjustments in post, and you are able to see already in camera the look you want to shoot in. Makes sense? Unless you're not shooting in V - Log or Raw. But even in V Log you have to set at least your white balance correctly in camera. :)
