this game is garbage, it's an almost completely unplayable mess. would 100% unironically recommend, this is so fun it's unreal
and honestly i can't believe im able to do that
EXPLANATION ON WHAT MAKES THIS IMPRESSIVE:
The hammer-on engine for Guitar Hero 1 is pretty busted, HOPOs only work on certain scenarios and when they do, the timing window for hitting them without strumming is so small you have to pull out a scanning tunneling microscope just to see when you can hit it (okay that's one hell of an exaggeration but you get what I mean). I guess you could think of it as a janky version of Rock Band 3? Not sure.
Also, GH1 does not have practice mode, this is why I was using save states.
And yes I do intend to FC the full song with this method.

I see, I still don't quite get how hard it is. I think I have only played the sequels, so I don't quite understand how much more difficuly the GH1 mechanics make this.

@@baggelissonic mainly that in this game you have to be really mechanical and accurate to hit hopos without strumming them
I used to use quite a few hopos in GH1 (mainly trills) but this is next level stuff
Good job! This song is a pain in the ass when i played it on ps2. (Completed game on Dualshock and Expert mode)
Been searching for a video of this for a while but it seems nobody has published one until six days ago. Good job showing us that it is actually possible without strumming 👍

so from what i see it's like doing the solo but with long note holding like mania
