this is actually an interesting part of sci-fi i've wondered about for a while. the idea of being so old that eventually your great x10 descendants are walking around. at that point family will have to take on a different concept. your descendants and you will have to have a very unique relationship, especially since you'd have so many by that point. point being: sol should start looking into space travel.

He probably has the best understanding of Gear's aside from the Gear Maker himself, and seeing how Sin has such a high metabolic rate, he might've had to buy stuff not commonly found in the local market to keep Sin fit and healthy. Sugar water was, as Sin put it, a delicacy because it was one of those things he could consume without extensive repercussions like being unable to satiate his hunger, or being his equivalent of junk food.

Gear growth patterns make a lot more sense considering the implication that there’s non-human animal DNA mixed in there. Most animals have a very short juvenile period (most are sexually mature in a year or two), then seem to stop aging until they collapse and old age hits like a brick. Humans are actually the exception due to having very long juvenile stage compared to our lifespan. If Gears have a multi-century lifespan (Sol’s over 200), then they won’t look old until they’re getting close to dying.

Sol, Ky, and Sin would make one hell of a comedy trio should they ever retired from fighting 🤣🤣🤣

As valentines technically they are “aunts” of dizzy. There is also Testament who was like a big sibling to dizzy and former knight like Sol and Ky. I think Testament is over 80 by now and we already know what he looks like in strive. Judgement was a former knight colleague of sol and ky and was nuts to turn themselves into a gear. Leopardon could be a demented pet for sin assuming it’s still alive. Think of all other gears as potential relatives to some degree. And there was a few non human ones but their gear cells are not as pure as the ones I listed above and prefer to live in isolation in Ganymede

I also find it funny that the most innocent person in the familly is NAMED Sin and traveled around with his grandpa who named himself Badguy. I love this game series!!

@@Zarryon12 as someone who knows very little about guilty gear and just happened to randomly stumble onto this vid i am very confused as to what you guys are talking about.

Sol engineered the Gears, and as one, he feared no other, despite their capacity as a world ender. Then Dizzy happened. And it took him time to realize that she ended a different world entirely.

Sol knew all along that he was raising his grandson using his son-in-law's salary from being a king and he used all those money to upgrade Junkyard and his bike and used the remaining money to buy water and sugar to feed a growing grandson who's technically still 5 no wonder Sin eats in the middle of battles, he must be hungry as fuck all this time Sin had it rough lmao, his father is busy being a king while his mother is frozen, and his grandpa pranked him big time; "Old man, give me a cool weapon" "Use a flagpole or something" could've made some kind of new overpowered weapon for his grandson but no, sarcastically told a 5 y/o to use a flagpole as weapon, SOL, HE IS FIVE, HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND SARCASM

I'm pretty sure Sol told Sin to hunt a lot for his meals and I quite frankly think Sol did an alright job in doing so. Sin never lived any sort of lavish lifestyle and is probably a better person for it. Also being told to just drink water isn't exactly a war crime. Sol definitely lives a different life than Ky does and Ky should have understood that having Sin travel with Sol would change him.

I’ve always been focused on Ky’s face in this scene, I’ve only now realized Dizzy is just as if not even more pissed, and my enjoyment of this moment has increased immensely.

I saw this randomly a while ago when I didn't know anything about GG. I've learned a lot of the lore since then, and I now understand why this scene is absolutely hilarious xD

@@righteouself9928 Because Sol and his girlfriend Aria were two of the first Gears, they're sort of considered indirect "parents" of all other Gears. Since Dizzy is a Gear, she could be thought of as Sol's daughter, and since Dizzy and Ky married, that makes Sol be Ky's father-in-law. Considering Sol and Ky have been rivals for the entire 20+ years of the Guilty Gear franchise, Ky has trouble coping with that information whenever his family brings it up, like in this cutscene xD

@@arashishinkaku169 Ky realizes it in a different cutscene. This bit is just him freaking out more and more that all the Gears in his family are basically Sol's kids or grandkids, and are starting to view him as a father figure. Also Aria is Sol's girlfriend/wife. _Dizzy_ is his daughter.

@@arashishinkaku169 the sugar water thing is a different part of the same freakout because sugar water is considered a poor person treat in Japan & Ky, who's a king, was explicitly sending Sol babysitting money so that reaction was more "that fucker likely spent all that money on his bike".

Thanksgiving at the Kiske household just got a lot more intense

The way he says "砂糖水?" as his face turns from one of confusion to horrified shock gets me every time.

And this is why Ky will always be better than Jin Kisaragi.

I mean they're practically identical, except one's run on modern day anime's edge while the other is 90's buff Kenshiro's anti-hero (seriously, that manga has wayyyyyy too much impact on the medium as a whole, much like how Dbz to the big three and the big three to the rest)

@@belrog4269 But goddamn, the way Sol's backstory ends with Aria. It's as if Ragna got his happy ending and Terumi was a good guy all along. No, instead we get the ending of Central Fiction, which is kind of bittersweet, but nowhere near as heartwarming as Sol's ending (for now).

Not really. Aria was pregnant with Sol's child when she mutated into Justice, but it took her the better part of 200 years to birth Dizzy. No one expected that to happen so Sol didn't realize he had a kid and therefore we didn't know for sure who Dizzy's father was, even though the general consensus for the past decade was that Sol is Dizzy's father. The Valentines are all clones so they don't really count, but Dizzy is Sol's only biological child.

It a shame we never gotten a heart to heart conversation with just Sol and Dizzy ..... I guess I can wait when Aria wake up then we can finally have that family reunion everyone as wanted and waited for the pass 2 decades .

Now Ky and Sol's 'rivalry' comes full circle. It all boils down to an in-law thing at the end

i guess they had a pretty good family meeting after their final battle, considering how Ky is talking casually to his mother-in-law about her love for Sol in Strive 👀

If Ky was a bit more tilted by everything, he would've jumped out a window like "Wow, look at the time, I have reunion. See you later! *Opens a window to avoid seeing Sol*"

I so hope they continue this in Guilty Gear 2020.

A 3rd season? Hope so. Jose Carlo Sugar water in Japanese culture is literal - a bit of sugar melted into water. It’s a drink that usually extremely poor people have as a treat. They both look horrified since Ky sends Sol a ton of money to take care of Sin and apparently spends none of it on his care.

It would actually fit as a sitcom. A 50's sitcom. Even with this, Lucy Show still had more domestic violence.

I was turned off of the GG story mode because of the whole "no gameplay" thing, but if it's as good as this then ArcSys gets all of my money :'D
