I have been watching GGBO since it first started and I have decided to finally enter the official event. I did my first Scratch Build last year (Rickenbacker Style Bass). My daughter loved it and asked me to build her a Left Handed version, so I'm joining the GGBO 2023 Kit Build. Hopefully she will do a sound demo when it is finished (no pressure).
This Rickenbacker kit from Amazon (amzn.to/3Xy0n7f) has the appearance of a Classic Rickenbacker except for a few things… The neck is a glue-in neck (instead of a neck-through), and the scale length of the neck and body is actually a full 34” (instead of Ric's 33.25” scale length). I don't think the different scale length is bad, in fact it may be a good thing. The head shape and tuner holes are different and the bridge and pickups are different. This is all fine since it will allow for us to customize the configuration to something we prefer.
