Totally hooked and can't wait to see the finished product. I know there are pics and such with the contest's website, but not looking. No spoilers. Love your work. If my Dad was still alive, he'd be hooked too. He did a lot of wood work and he'd be blown away by your work.

Great video. I really enjoy the way you think about the CNC and use fixtures.

Haven't watched this episode yet, but the thumbnail picture gave me an idea... With no fretboard on it, the neck core is striking and really catches the eye. What if that neck was one piece (all the laminations, but no added fretboard) with the radius sanded right onto the face of the neck. Not sure if the wood is hard enough to be a fretboard, but it'd look great. Truss rod would probably have to fit from the back. I've seen loads of one piece necks, but I've never seen a one piece neck through!

I actually thought about that but it was to late. Maybe next time

If it will fit, the CNC will not care if the neck tool path is caddy corner on the table. Looking good sir.

It looks like the thickness of the neck is such that you can make the angle cut without making a scarf

That CNC machine sure is a handy tool. I’m loving how you are using it. Just how complicated is it to program? I’m thinking of getting a small one to practice with to see if I can master it. Anyway, loving the guitar and the build videos. What’s more, I am learning a lot. Cheers 🍻

Thanks Andrew, the tool path/ g-code software that I use is vectric vcarve (it came with the machine) it was a bit daunting at first but once you understand the basics of how it works it really isn’t to bad. There are several KZread videos out there on this product you can get a good idea of how it works.
