Gettysburg Hotel fire: Feb. 10, 1983

On Feb. 10, 1983, a fire roared through the landmark Gettysburg Hotel for three hours.
According to news reports at the time the fire started at 2:05 a.m. in the three-story structure. The roof collapsed around 6 a.m. About 40 people were left homeless as a result.
