Thanks for this. I have no idea why they refer to pages as "sides" as it just makes it more confusing. When I think of "sides" in book printing I am thinking 2 sides to a sheet/ 4 pages to a sheet.

Hey matt would it be possible to split print runs between us and UK? Thinking it might be handy fir fulfilling KS distribution. Have the American mixam deliver to a fulfillment service and distribute that way

You’d have to ask them buddy. OR just do two print runs one U.K. one US depending on the total amount printed I don’t think they’d be to much difference matey…I think we are talking a couple of quid

Are there any good alternatives to Indesign and adobe illustrator? Those programs unfortunately use a subscription model which makes it very cost ineffective.

I use photoshop, but I got an old version on cd (remember those? 🤪) But I’m pretty sure you good achieve the same results in something like clip studio (which I think is 50% off this weekend) and that’s a one time purchase! 👍

Can u do a 100 days of comic making challenge Rules u should work on ur comic daily more than 6 min and u should finish ur comic in 100 days and with 24 pages

Ha ha ha…ironically the comic printed in this weeks video was made daily over a month…a page a day with me and Totti

Quick question: how do I know that the story that I'm constructing and writing...hasn't already been done?. I'm not a big comic reader so how can I know that my idea hasn't been done yet?

Everything has been done before, buddy! You just need to make sure it’s not been done YOUR way. Me personally I just say write it and if you think it’s original make. Then if people say “well that’s the same as xxx” at least you can honestly say, “I’ve never read that!” So no one can claim that your copying… Plus we never had superheroes till superman…so every hero after is a copy and slight variation of superman…so 😜 Just make your comic 👍

Has anybody tried uploading high res TIFFs to Mixam, it looks a little blurry in the preview but just a little.

The US site is more expensive than the UK site. At the moment, it's cheaper for me to order on the UK site and have it shipped to the US than to order on the US site. Crazy.

Yeah I just priced up my comics on the US site and it is higher around $380 for 100 comics BUT that’s still not too bad $3.80 per comic for a short print run. Sell your comic do $5 each that’s still a 24% mark up and profit per comic sold 😜

What was the higher higher-cost yellow price? What was the difference between that and the one you selected

apologises, buddy the yellow one was a priority order...it costs more but you’ll get your prints a day or two earlier...BUT I placed my order Thursday after noon...and I got them yesterday TUESDAY...a day earlier than expected and the same day the priority print quoted...so I’d stick to the cheaper option unless time is REALLY tight.

Don’t think so matey.,.those green lines are for example purposes to show you where the bleeds would be on the art you have uploaded. If in doubt reach out to mixam, you might have to resize you pages 👍

Hey buddy I always use. 176mm x 266mm on my comics, this includes. 3mm bless round the edge. I did create a template that anyone can download. There is a link to a Google drive folder in the description. Would that help?

Hey buddy, cheers for the interest in VC, currently only issues one but more to come. As for age…I reckon a teen could read it. I grew up reading vertigo comics and I turned out fine, I guess 🤣 but there are some bad words and it is a horror.
