It's ironic that we enthusiasts who wash and protect our vehicles frequently obsess over "durability" considering most of us a reapplying protection every time we wash and dry. I think it's left over from the days when protection meant applying a labor intensive wax. The reality today is most products today, aside from coatings, are spray and wipe and can be applied easily or maybe its because durability is more measurable than gloss.

really important point I agree. Im the same sometimes. like after washing you want to put something down, and the sort of water base spray sealaings seem to be taking over from traditional detail sprays or detail sprays are becoming more like the spray sealants.. but yer we want something to use with our daily wash I think, its like the icing on the cake after cleaning.

Totally agree. I myself find it's car dependent, on my pride and joy I do not care for durability, gloss finish is my main concern as its cleaned on each outing and then packed away. On my daily however totally different story, I want Somthing that I can put on and forget about for a few months

@No Name I like to clean the 140 at least once every 2 weeks. the golf can go months. problem for me is since doing the channel the time when I would just clean the car is now time I use to film stuff.. so my cars get sort of maintained worse than before I had the channel. I dont do anything special with them really. the golf is a lost cause but perfect that way. the m140 I just try and enjoy washing it as much as you can. its been pretty dirty all winter. like the stuff in the footwells and dust etc. its due a proper like clean and valet. most peeps watching the channel will keep cleaner cars than me.

@No Name a not so fanatical enthusiast , obviously peering in when you view the channel its just looks like I am constantly going on about all this stuff because its all you see. but the channel is just one part of my life that I put a fair amount of grunt into because I enjoy it. its grown now to a size beyond what it merrits where its like worth me putting more into it but its less glamourous doing this stuff than it looks. the priorty right now is to have some fun with the channel and get out there a bit more on the road with it this year, that keep me hungry as well.

My daily driver isn't my concern for durability, its all the other cars that I have to maintain that I wished I had all the time and product in the world to take care of and usually don't. yet maybe its just me being lazy, everyone has their own needs.

After five days and encountering every type of weather conceivable, rain, snow, hail/ice storm, lots and lots of road salt then hot and dry temps above 20c it was still beading when I washed it on arrival. Topped up as a drying agent and it looks stunning again, this really is an amazing product.

I got some Beadmaker as soon as it was available in the U.K. early Dec 2018. I have had it on my daily driver ever since so have lived with it for a while now. I wash every week or 2 weeks and apply every other wash or so. It has been beading better than I initially thought and as I top up often longevity has been irrelevant. Yes it’s very slick initially but I’m overly bothered by that as you don’t feel that by the next wash but what I’m extremely happy with is the way the car looks. This stuff leaves an amazing gloss which takes me by surprise sometimes as I walk to the car in the supermarket car park etc. It’s like a show wax but with a little more durability. I think the gloss increases slightly after a couple of top ups but I might be imagining that. I like it which is just a well as I have 2 bottles of it plus a gallon!

Bead Maker is a cracking product! I can understand the issue with the durability, but the level of gloss & slickness is what you want on your car after your hard work maintaining it ! This out ways the issue of durability for me & to be honest I always use some form of QD after every wash which is usually every other week or even more if the cars ditched ! So I’d rather have my paint pop after every wash ! I’m not sure how many people use a product and leave it for how long it’s supposed to last until re-applying another layer !? I think it gets better after curing as well ! Great channel look forward to every vid !

I use it on my truck and it looks great. Now after you apply it for the first time step away from your car for about an hour then look at it again. I thought they were crazy but it seems to look much more glossy that before. Also don't get it wet for a few hours to let it "cure". I've been using it as a drying aid ever since and no buildup problems.

  • @B95_P
    @B95_P5 жыл бұрын

I apply it the first time as you have, then use it as a spray on drying aid with each wash. The slickness translates when washing and it is quite noticeable. Honestly, the product works very similarly to other products available from known detail product companies. The combination of the price, the smell, and how good the car actually looks once used is what beats the competing products when you add those 3 things together, IMO.

I washed & waxed each wash for my daily driver when I fist bought it in 2020.. Then I've been applying BM & been using as an drying aid after each wash. Now I'm applying BM every 3-4 days since I do a rinseless wash with O&R to save time & not used a detailer spray. Now I only wash my car with soap/foam 1-2 times a month. It's a daily driver & its exposed to the outdoor elements 24/7 (I have no garage). My question is, when its a good time to wax the car in my situation? Could I get away just using BM? My car seems to be clean often & the shine/sickness is always there. Thanks much.

I have been applying beadmaker at least once a week for the last 2 months. Haven't noticed any ill effects over CQUK. Did a heavy coating a while back and use it as a drying aid. It's not an earth shattering product but it does leave a really nice gloss to it. For the price, I use it as a drying aid with a side benefit of gloss. Hard to beat the price when you are taking gallon size. Only thing that might be better for the money would be turtle wax ice spray wax.

That's a hard one. I think Beadmaker gives a silkier and better gloss but Polar Seal is really easy to apply. Just this week I've tried using Polar Seal by diluting it in a spray bottle with distilled water and using it as a quick detailer. Looking out of the window I can see the rain beading off the pannels of my truck. I think I'll use Polar Seal and Sonax if rain is due and save the Beadmaker for the summer weeks.

Yeah I've been using Beadmaker for a couple months now and I'm blown away with it. Now its winter here in the midwest but down in the garage, when I've applied it, it's been in the upper 40's and I've had no problem applying/removing it, can't wait to start using this more on a regular basis because the looks and feel initially are great but after it cures...LOOK OUT! My initial application was heavy, while the car was wet and I just did it this way. Then, when the car was dry, I applied a 2nd coat. I did this because I wanted to use the product so bad and really got into the application! I used an entire 16 oz bottle but because of the cheap price it didn't matter, I ordered a gallon next! Now John, per your review of several products a short time ago, I bought some Sonax Brillant Shine Detailer and decided to do a little experiment. I mixed Beadmaker and BSD together at a 1:1 ratio, 2 coats over 2 days while the car was parked down in the garage. Then I went 2 weeks w/o washing the car and we had a fair amount of snow, lots of salt and then a polar votex (left the car down in the garage for that one) but when I washed it I was left shaking my head once again! I did a pre-wash using my IK Foam 9 and adding 2 oz of AutoBrite Magifoam (per your review again), I used the entire 1.3 gallons too and let it sit. When I rinsed off with the Worx hydroshot the beading was insane and I contribute this to BSD. I then did a 2BM wash with Gyeon Bathe and then the car was VERY clean. I will say the car looked VERY clean after the initial pre-wash but I wasn't taking any chances, ofcoarse. I've learned and tried many products from this channel, like what I mentioned and also Bilt-Hamber auto-wash too (awesome) and I just wanna say thanks John.

I’m doubtful that I’m seeing the best of what this has to offer given that it’s being applied during the cold Yorkshire winter and usually in the dark! My main observation so far is that it’s mis-named. Beading seems not to be its main attribute. Gloss level on the other hand, is incredible.

My order of Bead Maker came in just last week. My car's paint was fully prepped, clayed, compounded, polished, Then I had fun applying an application of The Bead Maker, really love the results. My paint looks showroom fresh, great gloss & slickness, it's a great bang for the buck. I'll be keeping some on hand, Thanks.

Been running this product for a year now. Couple things. Application works best and lasts longest if sprayed on panel, not heavy, then leveled with a damp mf followed by a buff with a KLIN zero towel. Will gain you about an extra month if performance and slickness because you're leaving more product on the panel. Have a video on my channel about it. It doesn't repel dirt at all but does make removing dirt with a light wash very easy. When used as a drying aide it will not last as long. It will ruin your towels eventually if you wipe it off with a dry towel. In summer you will get little orange spots in the bottle, it won't hurt anything. Do not apply in direct sunlight! It'll streak very badly.

Great video, personally love the product, leaves the car very glossy and slick, but as you said its hydrophobic properties are not great at all, so I’m thinking combining approx. 24oz BM and 2oz car pro reload as an experiment, we’ll see how that works out.

Good review. I will have to pick some up. The conclusion I came to after watching the video is that it is a product perhaps better suited to the summer months in the UK? The durability and hydrophobic qualities being less of an issue then, along with the brighter light to really show off the gloss.

perhaps yer, although really any product you stick on a car.. like you go and drive the car now and it looks like a dog dinner by the time you have made it up the road. but you could argue like winter is just a time to get through and keep the car tucked up and applying less product maybe. but dunno yer lots will all do it different, still nice to lay this stuff down just freezing cold right now.

Great new music Jon. Good information on beadmaker in this video. I love the product, but I think there is some misconception in the industry. It isnt really a stand-alone protection product. It’s basically a QD with insane gloss and slickness that you use over a coating or sealant. I use it about once a month over CQUK 3.0. It’s warm and dry mostly where I live so I can’t speak to whether it should be used more frequently in more severe weather areas. Cheers.

Another good video jon, liked the music too. The guys that make this product seem like good people and i think this is one of the reasons that everyone is looking at their product as i have seen so many vids. its a bit like BSD it meets half the requirements, these products are the complete opposite though, BSD is not slick and gloss is average but durability and beading is great. I think i would rather use BSD over bead maker as durability and beading is more important to me. Maybe its hard to have all 4 but as said before megs ultimate range comes close with fast finish or ultimate spray wax.

I think its a lot of guys want to spray something on the car perhaps when they wash it.. its like the finish touch. So some of the things like BSD last so long its more a spray sealant. But BSD perhaps you could just top up when you wash the car and you get that nice slick thing going on.. defo nice to work with this stuff.

I bought a new car a few weeks ago, and I've been investigating and trying out a number of the "Ceramic" and "SiO2" and hybrid products on the market, looking for exactly: Slickness, and Gloss. I love seeing a rich, glossy paint appearance, and the feeling of the cloth that wants to just slide right off the paint. But none of the "ceramic" type products gave me that. I tried Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic wax, Carpro Reload, Carpro Elixir, Luxxio Speedy Coating (A local NZ based SiO2 product), and Turtle Wax Ice Seal 'n Shine, but they all left the paint feeling "grabby" on a micro fiber cloth. Great hydrophobic effects from all of them, but I was still disappointed. (Cotton Terry cloths slip and glide nicely on the dry paint surface, but micro fiber cloths stay grippy/grabby.) Then I just saw your videos and Pan's videos on Bead Maker, so I've just gone and ordered a pint + a gallon of this, as I hope it will give me that slick, slippery feeling I'm looking for, as well as the rich glossy look... I don't care if the durability is only a month or two... My car is always garaged, and I will be snow foaming, and two-bucket washing every couple of weeks, and each time I wash I'll just dry off along with an addition of Bead Maker, so the endurance of the product shouldn't be an issue. PS: your own music in the background over the time lapse of cleaning your car was a really nice touch! :)

I use it after every wash, but just spritz a bit on the towel and then again spritz lightly on the paint. I’ve done two of my cars and used about an eighth of a bottle. The slickness is amazing, but not convinced about the long term durability. I just use it as a maintenance tool.

I would love to mix and match this product along with Adams H20 G/G to maintain my families paint sealed cars. I used it on my my coated car, and man the pop was even crazier than the coating. The slickness is phenomenal, but it did seem to mask the dirt and grime repellancy that I love about ceramic coatings. Rain and snow marks would stick more to the panels than the standalone coating. Finding a great substitute for a coated car is difficult after seeing the physical feel and look of Beadmaker.

Applied to the M2 first time yesterday. Glad I bought the multi litre package as got through 850ml or so of product on first application. I used it as a drying aid before putting the full coat on and it worked very well doing that but even at lower concentrations showed gloss. I think for top up not much would be needed at all. The MF towel ends up saturated and was wondering if much smaller amounts of bead maker would still cost the care adequately?

its much better as something you like use every wash or every other wash, like a topper for a base protection.. because its nice to work with and feels good and gives the car a real gloss hit. with something like BSD you lay that down and its good for like 4 months so like your just putting more material down each wash that goes really really need to be put down perhaps. so yer beadmaker I can see the appeal I like it. sort of in the honeymoon period with it right now which is a cool place to be.
