Looks like really well designed kit nice touch including spares too bet your well chuffed Tom 👍
Such a good set up, it’s going to be great, bang tidy!
Class setup there, have some SS Brewtech gear myself and it's top notch quality indeed. Just a heads up on the outlet of the ball valves they are NPT threads, so just for whatever you're planning on using Quick Disconnects or Camlocks to get the right threaded fittings for your hose lines. Looking forward to seeing the build coming together...
Hey Tom Remember to seal the bucklehead adapters from the inside of the mash tun as well, both with PTFE tape and O-rings! Else you'll end up with a leak into the insulation layer of then mash tun. I learned my lesson with my the buckleheads in my plastic mash tun. Best regards Nicolai!
Awesome piece of kit there!! So happy for you! I started with 1 keggle myself and it was great to upgrade when i did. I'm afraid I have a bit of gear envy!! Going to look great. I agree with your bench mod. Get them bad boys all lined up side by side! Can't wait for more! Cheers Tom!! 👍🍻 (The live was showing 11pm for me.. Lol)

I dunno what happened with the live schedule lol cheers Brian! I can't wait to get stuck in! :)
Hey Tom, Just a heads up, I have this same system and those valves can't take direct flame!!! I don't know if you brew with a flame or not but make sure your kettle is set off to the side so that the valve is not over the flame AT ALL! You'll end up with a bunch of burnt plastic in your beer. This happened to me the first time I brewed with it, destroyed my beer. But, that said, lessen learned - I am VERY happy with my SS gear!
Kit looks mint. 3pc ball valves are great for cleaning. Just do one more break down step. Hook out the white Teflon washers and turn the handle so the ss ball drops out. Cheers
I’m interested to see how you get on with that mash tun, I was thinking about getting one. 🍻
all 3 side by side look the part mate. Enjoy ! looking forward to seeing the maiden voyage on them. cheers :)
Sorry I couldn’t get in for the unboxing. Lovely kit mate.
Looks good. I enjoyed the live video as the combination with the comments made it entertaining. When you do the new control panel how about a craftbeerpi3 set up? Good thing is it is opensource software :). You could re-use most of your existing panel electronics and just get a raspberry pi. Keep some manual switches in parallel with the control as a backup.
Fabulous!
And ladies woohoo
All looks smart...can't wait to see what you're planning to do with heat. You think later you might have the pots modified with a TriClamp fitted port? Then you can pop electric elements right in there and remove them for cleaning and servicing. Really look nice, Tom. (Couldn't happen to a nicer guy....Cheers!)
maybe lift the whole worktop up, move the pumps to the far right, you could squeeze a second fridge in 👍
Super jealous of that setup, you sold me on SS BrewTech for quality and price. I am assuming you need another hole cut in both the HLT and Boil Kettle for your electric coils?
Looks good...but can feel your frustration! Do the kettles and mash tun have different finishes?
Great system but save the Starsan for your fermenter just use PBW on your kettles.
Looking great the set up, have you thought about just raising the workbench instead of cutting it, cheers 🍻
Cut the work top tom!!! Think of how epic your endings could be!!!!!!
Friggin Riiiiight!
Looking good bud.. is this the 1899.00 all grain setup?..I’m so close to hitting buy button.
Did your kettles come with o rings for the inside? The white ones? Thx!

Yes buddy :)
You should try brewing some Kombucha next!
Not jealous honestly, need to find a cheap source for 3 piece ball valves
Keeping it electric or going propane?
I don't like the mash tun screen gasket. I don't like the idea that when the gasket needs replacing you may or may not be able to get a replacement based on it they are still selling them. Its a good looking mash tun but I am hesitant to buy based on that gasket

I've used my 20 gallon tun for 1,5 year now and not had a single problem with that seal. I remove it from the false bottom when not in use. Just to be sure if somethings happens I've just ordered 2 spare seals. They do not cost much and if you store them in a good way they will be as good as new if you need them. IF Ss don't intend to make spares some time in the future you can just split a small size silicone tube and use that as a seal. So - no worries in my head :)
Guess I'm build a dinosaur system. Everyone is running electric
How can you be so calm waiting for the first brew day on the system??! I'm not....
Hey Tom Seals / orings go on inside only 👍

Liquid seaps through the threads when on outside...

kegkingdom I would have thought they should go on whichever side you’re not screwing the nut onto - so if you’re screwing the nut on the inside, the washer is outside, and if outside, washer inside (so it’s waterproofing the seal between the side of the threaded shaft welded to the fitting and the vessel) - you have a combination of inside and outside on yours Tom and it looks like you’ve got them all right.

As you say, liquid seeps through the threads.
