Getting the 2018 Peterbilt 579 to start when losing fuel prime.
This goes with previous video. This was after it sat about noon Saturday until 9 Monday morning. It cranks and cranks unless you manually prime it.

That's not the check engine light. That's the light for the after treatment system. The check engine light looks like a wrench.

You are kind of correct. It is the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). It was coming on due to lack of fuel pressure after cranking for so long. Wasn't the after treatment at all that time. Still hasn't been completely fixed. I have given up with Peterbilt shops network. I will be trading it next month and going back to Freightliner. At least they call me when my truck is on the shop.....
Where did you get the pump from is it on the truck itself I'm trying to prime my filter as well

That is just the hand pump on the side of the motor
the davco is sorta over full just at a glance must be cold out

Probably was a little cold. I had truck for 3 years and was never able to get this issue fixed. Traded it in for a 22 Freightliner Cascadia.
Did you finally ever get the problem fixed ,if so what was it

Nope. I now have 277,000 miles on it. They never found the problem and I gave up on Peterbilt. I just go out and start it every day and then it does fine. I am going to trade it in for a Freightliner I think in April.
