As a person who just built a Poko Pro XL; holy shit this is archaic & I have mad respect for the people who bought in & funded the company to make what I just built. You guys are heroes. Let this be a lesson to every person who sees a new company picking up a tech & branding it: It can lead to good things!

I still work this unit just about every day. It has the Z upgrade now but that's it. No complaints. I've been eyeing the new stuff and it looks amazing!

@@TheJ20jeepster indeed, I can tell they were still solid machines, I am more talking about the build process, it is so much more streamlined now, far less to build yourself. I enjoy building machines, though, the xl pro goes together fast & comes mostly assembled, which is also nice. Awesome to know 5 years later yours is still going strong.

Thank you for helping us out by watching you trip though this build. Your error(s) = our benefit. Now to figure out how to save the money... I'm 2 years behind schedule!

Well I have finally hit my day for my Build! Of course so much time has passed by that I forgot all about your video. Your video is 10x's better than going through Winston Moy's XL Build. I just hammered on with my own setup until I had all pre-assembled (loose, not tight), and I was at the limit switches. Well, watching your video once again (refresher's course), I'm pleased to share that I did not blow anything up to this point! (LOL). I do like how you shared your information on the Eccentric Nuts! Wish I had that info before my build (should I rather say I wish I retained that info from 10 months ago). I'm sure I counterclockwised a few just to make me happy (8mm BTW). I decided to grab my deep sockets to complete this task. All in all, after a nice break (dinner), I'll head on back and re-watch this video (on that computer) and carry on with my build. Once again @TheJ20jeepster, thanks for going that extra mile for the Community!

Excellent video. I agree with what you said about great communication from Carbide, but find their instructions not so good. I will be watching this as I assemble mine. Even the mistake was helpful. I learned a lot. Thank You!

Watched the whole video, super helpful and easy to understand the process of assembling, really want a CNC router, and the Shapeoko is top of my list right now. Quick question - are drag chains included, or is it something you have to make yourself if you want any? Thanks again!

@@J20Jeepster yea. Let me ask one thing, based on your answer I’ll get the z plus or leave mine as is when it comes. Have you done and 3D carvings with this machine, if so was it ok? And have you had any issues with it?

@@lunatic231 I have not done 3D work with it. I have seen others in a FB group I'm a part of do some great 3d work with it though. I run mine for my business and have put more hours on it than could count. I own 3 now and They have run for many hours a day. Only thing I have had to replace is belts and routers and v wheels about once a year. In my opinion, It would be hard to get a bigger bang for your buck.
