If anyone is having issues with your scene turning black and white when adding the effect, this happens to me too. However, changing mt project from 16bit to either 8bit or 32bit seems to fix this problem. No idea why, but that's what worked for me.

Thanks for sharing that. It shouldn't be necessary to do that, but it's good to know that it can help. This sounds like a GPU issue that might be solved by a driver change.

This a a great Tutorial for a super sick plug-in. I just have a question, I followed all the steps and created the same thing except my shockwave needs to NOT be centered on the screen. My turbulent noise sphere is off to the left a bit but the Chromatic Displacement is still rendering in the center of of image. How do I fix this?

@@alexanderabrashev1366 The only solution Ive found that works consistently is putting the layer you want to displace into a precomp and selecting that precomp as your displacement layer. You can move it freely from inside that precomp and that will avoid the automatic center problem. It's a pain in the butt to have to precomp it like that everytime but at least it works.

Excellent tutorial! but i have a query.. I made a glass toroid and I want to change the index of refraction (IoR) with a bit of aberration, how do you recommend adding the (IoR)? I've been hours and I still can't find the way or an expert tutorial. Thank you

Been playing around with this for a project and there seems to be no way to off-center it so that it's not in the middle of the screen. Changing it from a Center Map to a Transform Map doesn't give much control and only allows the force field to be very small. Has anyone solved this?

After wasting time experimenting with the transform effect and altering expressions in hope of a solution, I've found that the best way is to pre-comp the displacement source (sphere) layer and animate it through master properties!

Hello! Glad you like the plugin, but sorry it's not working well for you. When applying an effect causes the whole layer to go blank, it's often an issue with the GPU. If changing your GPU drivers doesn't help, please file a ticket with our support team so that we can look into it.

I use this tutorial for prism displacement from universe plug-in on after effects it's similar at 90 95%, doesn't need to buy it !

He uses the "FX Console" plugin by VideoCopilot (just look it up). Once you install that, you can just hit CTRL+Space to open the search bar.

If you're asking about the displacement map at the end, it's just a light circle with some fractal noise overlaid.

@@spike1763 bumping up the Soften Displacement Layer parameter can help with that. So can bumping up the Transform>Scale value in the Fractal Noise effect.

That's a composition flowchart that comes up if you press tab, making it easier to navigate between nested comps (in case you never found out).

There is a big error. If you are using CC2018, the effect will be black and the preview will stop. My computer is good, Adobe full version

To get some similar looks, you can use Prism Displacement in Red Giant Universe. Universe works in DaVinci Resolve. VFX Suite is only compatible with After Effects.

This is certainly a great Plugin, and I would love to work with this but the problem is I don't have AE CC or later nor do I have Windows 10 for the requirements so basically that sucks ass for those of us who still use AE CS6 and are on Windows 7. So Bite Me Red Giant. Now I got to see if there are tutorials that will achieve what your plugin will do using what's available in after effects regular displacement .
