A handy tip for getting rid of papers Sean. Just fill the sink with water and soak the papers really well. When thoroughly wet squeeze them into balls. No-one will ever be able to undo them or read them. And it is better for the environment than burning them. Love your videos thank you - they have been a life saver through some recent dark days.

I'm in this stage too. I'm helping a friend whose husband died suddenly and left an awful financial and physical mess. I've cleared out 2 piles of paper each measuring around 8 feet by 8 feet by around 3 feet high. There's about the same amount still to go. I work in his library every second weekend, all day. I'm now carrying out Swedish death cleaning of my own stuff, much to my husband's horror. He's a collector who describes himself as a borderline hoarder. I'd say he crossed the border some time ago! I'm not touching his stuff. Mine is getting purged, one book shelf or one pile of clothing, at a time. And while it was very slow and even painful at first, I find I'm feeling freer, stronger, and richer with every session.

Decluttering becomes a real brain drain. Decision fatigue is a real thing. When I am decluttering, it comes on very quickly. But persistence pays off.

Hi, I have over the last 2 years declutterred my parents house following their deaths. I made pass after pass until I became ruthless. My souvenirs? 2 photos and a pen. There were hoarders of a humungous nature. It has caused me to think of my own children having to endure this painful chore. I have rendered my home, clothes, storage minimalist. Makes me feel good knowing no baggage, some things for memos if they want. We are all from i might need that one day generation😂

I've moved into a Campervan. 78 sqft for just me and my cat. Had a few boxes stored here and there with relatives that I've finally condensed into one small storage unit. Just seasonal gear to swap in and out. A desk, 3 boxes of books and a rocking chair. My kiddo actually thanked me for not keeping a hoard for him to sort through😅

Just find this video of you ..looks like I going backwards instead of forwards..😅 I had to declutter all the things from my hubby when he passed away. It took me for ever....what a job this was..I still have two bags full of cables and plugs. Not sure what to do with them...yes Vicks is still working with me..

Pleased you attended Capel Manor. I did two years of one day per week. I learned so much there. Got a merit in greenhouses and lawns. And now I don’t have either. Great place.

Sean next time you get a cold, never mind putting Vicks on your chest, instead, put a thin layer on the soles of your feet overnight .. it works to clear you sinuses..like magic. !

Good stuff Sean, makes you realise that life is a one way street,.like you I love the soil and the rocks, there's only us and the rocks,I intend to keep on gardening, tell us more about the interesting people your met in your fascinating career so far,at fifty there there should be plenty more to come,I've always found that life really is full of surprises, my late wife was an artist, and believed that art was in the moment, and that what happened to a piece of art was less important, that philosophy,I think works for everything.

I’m really laughing at all the things you are keeping and the reasons you are giving why!!! I always think will I even remember these things that I keep! And why did I keep them, when i reach my dotage???🤦‍♀️😂😂😂🥰I think that’s why there are so many repeats on the tv, they think you won’t remember you have seen things every week, for the past six months!!! When you get to a certain age🤦‍♀️😅🐑🌻
