I fell for so much propaganda when I was younger. Fooled by scholars and higher education. All a falacy. They have it's place. The cabin looks great, as always. One nice thing about the fall is it seems you have fewer bugs to battle! Great idea using sawdust for insulation, what was the white powder you also added to it? A lot of hard work getting things ready for winter, you guys split a lot of wood and stacked it. Thanks for the update . Take care.

It's the first time I've ever seen your guys KZread. I really like a lot. It was also very smart. I think you guys are using the sawdust for like insulation in the top of the house. I would have never ever thought of that to use as an insulation barrier. I wonder if that actually keeps the heat in. I used to do insulation work for a very long time. I did it for 6 years. Definitely mind-blowing to see other things being used besides insulation. 😊

this is one of the best and free insulation materials, in Russian villages this can be found in every house, and everyone lives calmly in -40 degrees below zero

i like how the log cabin looks on the inside and outside but as a suggestion i would show how you built it because none of your video shows how you built in that cabin and i love how it looks on the inside and the outside just need to see how you built it

the window with the handle should have two clicks before opening, 4 clicks if it is tilting, if you make the first click it opens only 6 millimeters without removing the safety, if it is also tilting it opens double without removing the safety. The internal temperature does not change in the first shot, but there is a slight exchange of air, to avoid internal condensation, in the third shot the hot air is let out in summer, or the smoke if something doesn't work.

Ich finde das toll,aber ich würde die Hütte für Holz noch bis zur Hälfte vollmachen und evtl. auch Kohle bunkern.Der Dachboden sollte isoliert werden an der Decke.Da gibt es noch einiges zu tun.Viel Kraft für Euch!Vorräte nicht vergessen!

that sawdust inslation will soak up all the condensation drips from the metal foofing(should have laid a waterproof membrane under the tin)when that sawdust get laden with water it will cause a bad damp on the ceiling under it and freeze as well

I lived at a sawmill when I was a kid. We had massive amounts of sawdust. Have you ever seen a sawdust explosion? It can destroy your cabin in seconds. I love the cabin, but I'd choose different insulation. I'd even use clay instead of sawdust. One spark is enough and you are dead.

Is it borax you guys are spreading on the wood shavings in the attic?

for lighting the stove, soft wood (spruce, fir), and then hard wood (maple, birch)

Using saw dust would be a good insulator. But won’t that cause a lot of dust and encourage mice? I suppose it doesn’t matter for your barn, but not for the main cabin.

yes, in the fall there is syrup with medicine, and in the winter I give a cake made of honey and sugar

Harsh Winter? lol Here in YQT, North Ontario...I bet we have to yard up 3-4 x the amount of wood that folks in S.Ontario and the Lower 48 need to do. Fatp..er...Patrick needs at least 12-15 full cords for the winter at his hacienda...
