Useful video!! I think that little piece of extra material is actually meant to prevent the vent-lip to damage the paint in the inner part of the fairing. The wind will make it vibrate and rubs of the paint. But that's just my guess...
@ITFZone
Ай бұрын
Yep I have been watching for this while I ran without the trim. It does not go far enough to rub, BUT, if you close it all the way down as stock it does rub but not seen any damage but I rarely close it.

I ran without the trim through the winter and spring, kept adjusting from half to full up. Most of the time I felt like I had more of a bubble. Wind conditions change the effect at half or full for sure. In the end I found I preferred to leave it all the way up which led me to see how much I could get by removing the nub on the trim. In the video you see my first time seeing how much adjustment the mod would add and I for sure was surprised. You can get the full motion of adjustment by eliminating that small nub!

do you really need the full range as on a streetglide the vent and dash is closer to the rider compared the roadglide where it is futher away so the air will dispusrse and go over you.

The Street Glide is a different design and opens further than the Road Glide so I agree this mod would not be effective on this model.

That's interesting. I went from a 2016 CVO SG to the 23 CVO RG. I never took a bug to the face in 30k miles on my SG. On the new RG in only1k miles, had a yellow Jacket fly up under my helmet and sting me 3 times b4 i could get him out. Then yesterday I took something big right on the lip... damn that hurt. I'm not 100% sure they came through the vent but I never seen them coming over the 12" shield.
