Team Emem. Marriage is for mature minds that know what they want. The parents of such a person should suggest, advice and NOT impose. They should still turn up when needed for support... whether they agreed with the choice of partner or not.

I think its good to get a parental consent at the early stage of the relationship. It's easier to break a relationship at that time than after u both are very involved and dated for a long time with u making ur final decision to settle with him now for ur parent to now reject him. The emotional turmoil u will experience this time will make u decide to marry him even without the parents consent. Couple get ur parents consent at the start of ur relationship please.
