Good score for sure! First time burning cherry this fall, and it is amazing. Wife has used it for smoking too. Excellent! That guy was very nice for a "city guy". He was mainly checking to see if you were dumping. You did very well leaving things better than when you got there! That long trailer just showed its value being that long! Love getting cherry wood. I plan on making smoker wood chunks and see how they sell. It’s a very small city. Janesville, Iowa.

I'd definitely drive 12 miles for cherry logs. Typically, I stay within an hour of my place.

I was able to get a full cord from those cherry logs.

Free wood is free wood. If its there at the waste site its bc someone wanted it gone in the 1st place. That guy probably saw the logs there and wanted them also but he looked like the type thats afraid of work so he wouldn't of taken the wood in the end. Happens to me sometimes. Free wood ad i showup and cut and take the wood. Neighbor comes out and say they want it but obviously are too old to be running saws and lifts and splitting big rounds. If its free its first come 1st serve!

Yes. That wood was dumped there as waste. Small cities usually just burn it. Bigger towns pay to have them ground up to make wood chips.

Nice vid but a bit cheeky just turning up and helping yourself.

It’s a city yard waste site. The town is less then 2,000 people.
