Good solution. I'd personally move the power adapters to the cabinet and add a white extension cord. That way the black cords are hidden and everything seems cleaner.

Hi thanks for your video! I just have some questions about your modem/router. Did you just straight plug in your nighthawk router on your modem/router from your provider or you still need to disable the router mode on your modem/router 1st?

@@brianapel8404 you should disable the WiFi on the AT&T gateway to avoid any unneeded interference and then enable IP Passthrough so that peer to peer gaming will work right.

Hey, did ATT use the same spot to run the new Fiber cable into your kitchen or did the leave the old wall plate in place and make a new wall plate next to the original?

They used the existing CAT5 cable I had in my house, that ran from the basement to the kitchen. The kitchen wall plate with the ethernet jack was already there.

Curious as to why you still have the Nighthawk connected? Doesn’t their gateway provide the WiFi for you? Wondering because I have a nighthawk I use for Xfinity which we just cancelled and will have AT&T fiber installed today.

hey, at&t prem tech here they didnt do the best job with bringing the fiber to the ont there at the beginning. that thin white cable can easily break if bent much at all, so you really shouldn't mess with it too much. what i wouldve done was to cut into the top of the mounting bracket for the ont and run the fiber directly inside of it. then i wouldve used a small but more sturdy jumper cable to go from a bulkhead at the bottom of the ont bracket into the ont. and i wouldve just looped the slack up inside of the ont bracket. that way the fragile white cable wouldnt be at risk of being bent. if u have any questions about your service, i can help answer them for you. just wanted to let you know about that white wire coming out of that tho, because it really isnt good to be exposed like that. here's a picture of what a proper 010G (the ont on the wall there) should look like with the white cable being not visible and the small fiber jumper linking the back of the mounting bracket to the ont itself via a bulkhead img.community.ui.com/a2d808f0-b34a-4b2b-9612-5a5f89699832/answers/4f7120d9-c0fe-4fe8-9be4-5c46637816b6/ce967188-645a-4991-b6bf-d6295316b147
