" GETTING CASTANEDA " UNDERTANDING CARLOS CASTANEDA - AUDIOBOOK - Peter Luce - Lomakayu

From the book called "Getting Castaneda" which I recently narrated for Audible in collaboration with Peter Luce, the author. I very much enjoyed the journey of Peter's book. I am sure to many of you Carlos Castaneda is a familiar name. There was a lot of controversy over whether his "stories' were true or not true. But in the end it was the transmission of a philosophy or way of being and moving in the world. The reason I am sharing it is because I was struct by the some Advaitist Ideas in the training of a "Sorcerer" and his world view.

Castaneda's books liberated me from the tedium which can accrue around daily life. Thank you for continuing his teachings which deserve to be widely incorporated into our ordinary social everyday knowledge in the same way that psychology is these days.

Hello, thanks for this video! Since childhood I have been interested in esotericism and the theme of life after death. This world has always seemed to me something similar to the one depicted in the film The Matrix. I was often accompanied by deep melancholy in the place from which my soul was embodied here, because for some reason I always felt that place contains more light than this world called Earth. And now this feeling is completely overwhelming…because I live in the southern Ukraine not far from the Zaporozhye nuclear power station captured by Russian brutal troops, rockets regularly fly into our town, frequent air raid warning makes pressure on the psyche, I’ve lost my job…but thanks to the Universe and the power called God my loved ones and pets are still alive. Now we have more time to think about our souls and the meaning of life… Truly, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger… I am ashamed to confess, but now for the first time in my life trying to ask for help from people living in more prosperous states, because my beloved home country can't take care of all of us right now, wartime unemployment is so huge, meanwhile we have to somehow take care of our family members, pets(we have five cats and a dog, imagine) and friends in need. If suddenly someone who reads this message feels a response in his heart and really has the opportunity to help then You can find my email for pay pal account in my youtube channel description. Even one dollar can help. Thank you so much for your attention and kindness

I had an astonishing experience - rather like a "here one minute, elsewhere the next" type of affair, most of which - though at the time I knew it was not an ordinary dream - I cannot access. One of the details involved "another body". It was a realm that was an immense distance from the Earth physically, yet - as it was vaguely described - it was a buffer or binding cartilage between the Earthly dimension and the next (one such I was taken to to prove how beings can function in places that have completely different lawas of physics). I was not under the influence of any drugs, nor in any position that would encourage sleep. I hope, I beg that they might take me back to that "other place" and explain more of it to me. Though all that is probably happening, as the other self.

You left the part out, where invisible beings eat our energy down to our toes, and there's no way out - that’s what he leaves us with before his final rewrite of his jump, what a guy. I love those books fact or fiction, there's that feeling, that yearning for something more. Still reread them! In an early book he tells you how to go on a “power walk” I did it, and something amazing happened, too long to explain, but I tested a technique in the book, not to debunk, just to try it, and got a result, so I know there are deep things in those books.

I am glad to see this, I have gained some understanding from Castaneda's books. Some are down on Castaneda, and with some reason but I think there is a lot in his writings, and at this point I can separate the good and the bad much better then in past years. Many teachers attempted to single handedly establish a new form for truth, and that is a hazardous undertaking, it would be easy to slip and fall, so I've learned some patients with people like Castaneda, and to not throw out the values (which there is many) while keeping in mind that he was human and likely owes something in the way of apology to the Spirit, though he also paid much respect to this Spirit.

Come let us reason together: Since only That which is can either affirm or deny that there either is or is not That which is, there is That which is. Is it a limit or a creative guideline? Every perception is to some extent memory. Every memory is to some extent imagination. Every choice we make generates a corresponding timeline of experience. Each moment of the day is 'both' a fruit of yesterday 'and' a seed of tomorrow. When the dream of the Mind matches the aspiration of the Heart, the Will can mindfully take Heart and move it forward ever nearer to the Heart's desire.

This one is rather controversial, I must say, having read all the Castenda books back in the day and the critiques and debunking. One problem is that they were presented as factual accounts rather than fiction, which lent more credence to them. Had they been told as fictional stories, that would have altered the impact, I think. Well, they were creative and inspiring and maybe in the category of visionary, but I don't vouch for the veracity of the works traditionally. It would not be ad hominum to say that he didn't turn out very well in the end, but then, not everyone does. ;) Since lineage is rather important and teachings, Carlos' claims to a lineage are suspect, which is problematic because lineage is also about the consistency and validity of what is handed down. So, maybe the above would be more like caveats and the fiction could be considered interpretations, amalgamations and astral inspirations, at the very least.

  • @ernestweber5207

I would add that sorcery in this sense appears to have a dualistic, astral or bardo nature to it, rather than being a transcendent, non-dual teaching. It does have transcendent aspects, but through a glass darkly. It leans heavily on the siddhi side, which is often considered a distraction or diversion in many Eastern lineages and caution is advised and, according to the pith instructions, best avoided. On the other hand, have fun. Find out. Learn.

  • @ernestweber5207

@@internetnoob2940 Yup. There is also a violent and cruel nature to some of the depictions in the books, like shadow elements. However, that can make a work of fiction exiting and more intriguing, which I think is telling, as well. I kind of sum it up as: psychedelics + a vivid imagination + creativity + lots of books and research + insights/visions, mix well, shake = Carlos Castaneda. I like science fiction and some authors can create very convincing, detailed, consistent and vivid worlds that seem very real and are even based on real scientific principles. They are just good fictions though and mere entertainment.

This book is totally pointless now, and I consider Luce to be a bad guy in the Castaneda community. He even cast doubt on Carlos when he commented on his 5 final books, calling them "nostalgic" . When in fact they were the replacement for the famous "how to" book Carlos said he had lost in the 80s in a theater. As a result of the hard efforts of Carlos with private classes, there's now a small community of a few dozen who can make EVERYTHING from the books work, just as written. But Luce never seemed to realize the books were simply a factual account of things you can do yourself. And stole money from people based on pretending to understand them. So stay away from bad men like Peter Luce? He was just a "psychic" fortune teller trying to cash in on Carlos, but having no real knowledge at all.
