@@chippiepoi Thank you! This may seem like a tangent, but one of the things I keep in my head is my own little drill sergeant. This mindset is a bit new for me because I actually attained it from a crippling failure and am still getting used to it. Earlier this year, I was supposed to get a procedure done that I always wanted to get, but I chickened out last second due to mortal fear. Ever since then, I’ve been in a rabbit hole about the shortness and fragility of life, which inspired the seeds of a “just do it” mindset. I treat myself with empathy to acknowledge my fear and urgency to acknowledge the need to get it done. There’s a scared little kid inside me who needs me to stand up for him, because no one else would.
Any military veteran knows that at one point we were all like this, and it took some serious time to get to where we needed to be. So I give it to these recruits. I give it to anyone who signs on the dotted line.

It's a plus to have because you blend in with the locals. SF soldiers have beards to blend in the locals, Green berets particularly let their hair grow and beards, some Seals too. But depends on your battalion, I've met a few rangers who have beards and some who don't. But typically rangers don't. For the people complaining about bad form on those push-ups: Try and do 20 eight counts, 20 leg lifts, 20 mason twists, and 20 in and outs, and then do push-ups as fast as possible all the while somebody is telling you to go faster. If you can, good for you. But keep in mind if you break and fall to the floor you not only have to start the whole beating over for yourself, but for everyone else. My time in basic the beatings would take a minimum of 20 minutes and up to an hour and a half without rest. When you're that tired you don't care about form.

@@MichaelCorleone562sounds like BS I graduated from BMT in 2018 and the MTIs could 100 percent make you workout. They were limited to three “reprimands” a day aka making you do strength workouts and the preferred weapon of choice was burpees. Now was it hard? No I personally thought it was way too easy and would beg my instructors to give us more time to do runs and pull-ups, I would also do hundreds of push-ups and squats a day to try and keep in shape for AFSOF. But even if basic was a cake walk I don’t believe for one second they “couldn’t make you do push-ups” basic training is you meeting the bare minimum, and anyone who struggles in basic is up for a rude awakening. Unlike SOF pipelines your instructors want you to pass and have no intention of kicking you out all of the “scare tactics” are there to break the kids individual tendencies and teach them to not overthink. If you think some guy raising his voice at you is scary then the idea of doing water confidence drills till you pass out and then being forced to get right back in the pool would be a living hell for most people. Even the marines who like to pretend their basic made them a badass were simply put through the bare minimum. And the funny thing is if you talk to most SOF vets they have fond memories of their pipelines. It wasn’t nearly as bad as combat and you realize that having an instructor who doesn’t want to actively kill you doesn’t compare to an enemy who wants you and your men dead and will try to do anything in their power to get it done even using women and children as tools for that objective. Basic is a joke and if you don’t see it as a vacation then combat will make a cripple of you.

@@dragonsofthunderPE isn't required in alot of schools now and it usually doesn't have anything to do with pushups, situps and running. The problem comes from the school's making them soft.
How soft can you possibly get ?!?
Looks like a cake walk compared to a vacation to the island
Man, those berthings are way nicer than when I went to boot camp
they never make it rain anymore.... Turn up the heaters, close the windows, workout till you have a literal puddle of sweat under you....They have their PT shoes while doing PT ? Da faqq happened to wearing the steel toe while doing PT in the barracks's room....

In ‘96 it “rained” every day in 022! I came out of boot built stacked better than 4 years of ha football! Camera on? Different treatment!
This is the most baby shit Ive ever seen. The military has gotten so damn soft I wouldn't trust anyone enlisited in the past 5 years in any form of combat

“Oh no, the week 1 people are being treated like it’s week 1. Oh no!” Get out of here with your crying.
Look at all those great young people ❤
Just got out. Will never forget my RDC’s favorite phrase “very well”
Damn, thats a nicer compartment than what i had.
Some of them probably thought "I'm not joining the Army or Marine Corps. I don't wanna have to do pushups." And here we are. Lol. 😂
VetBros minds are exploding
Damn, i thought i was weak. This makes me feel better
Ayeeee Petty Officer Milcette was a beast back in 2018 for us. He was feared but loved by the go hard types we had in the division.
Thank goodness my Navy basic training was forty years ago.
Listen those yells were like whispers 🙃 in the ARMY BCT that I went thru, they made fucking IT to make us to do push ups
I went to boot camp in 84 and we used to "sweat the bulkheads" or do airplane pushups (SDO bootcamp was near the airport and it was up or down as we heard planes take off or land) - good times!
Navy bootcamp gotta step their shit up… shit was a breeze when i went
i miss boot camp =D
I love the lizard Man 😂❤
I went though with a collegiate champ wrestler and he made it all look easy. The drills were truly flabbergasted as to how to challenge him.
That guy on the bunk must have a profile
I remember them giving us ice cream socials like they were going out of style. if you know you know
NJROTC vet here and as far as I can tell they’re NOT ready 😂
It like bootcamp with all the pressure and yelling.
Imagine if David Goggins was there 😂

Navy doesn’t get yelled at for shot
Nah these push-ups are like kindergartens in PE class
Shit that looks easy asf 😂😂😂 this is my warm-up at the gym.
The SIQ person just watching 😂😂
U got the siq dude just chilling in his rack watching everyone😂😂
They quit doing push ups in high school, so they forgot how, ha ha ha.
this right here is why i signed up for the navy tf are those push ups 😭🤣🤣
The blue digi n’dubs were the best looking imo
This is why I’m getting even more physically prepared for this. I’m in pretty good shape now but better to be safe than sorry.
Bro on the top bunk siq 😂😂😂
Yo these barracks are crazy
And remember if you fail this ITE session, RDC will document your hard card 😂
Fxk That's so true.. you're not sweating, you're not trembling.. You're just quitting
Honestly, ITE in bootcamp was fun. I enjoyed getting beat and would go to other RDC's compartments with some other guys in my div and take the ITE for them.
I came from a strong division 😂 beat from 1-1 up to the night before graduation. I miss those days
Ahhh, the good ole days...💪
It's the navy, this is a show for the camera. their real PT is dancing to the YMCA and "jaw exercises"😂
