Getting Around Houston Hobby Airport - HOU - Complete Airport Tour

Thanks for joining me on this tour of Houston's William P. Hobby Airport! Today's tour covers Houston's original and smaller of its two airports, which still operates as a hub for Southwest Airlines.
Despite the construction of Bush Intercontinental Airport in northern Houston, Houston Hobby remains a bustling hub, offering over 50 destinations and hundreds of daily flights to destinations around the country, as well as to Central America and the Caribbean. This compact airport has worked hard over the years to remain relevant, and this year, they've earned Skytrax's coveted 5-Star Rating, the first such rating earned by any airport in North America. With the right balance of stores, restaurants, short walking distances, and world-class customer service, Houston Hobby is a great place to start or conclude your journey!
NOTE - The boutique airline JSX also uses Houston Hobby, but I didn't cover them, as they're not located in the main terminal. If you're flying JSX, head to their website to get more information regarding arrival, departure, and parking.
I do a lot of original research while preparing these videos, so please leave a comment below if you have questions about the tour or navigating the airport, and I'll do my best to answer them! Or, share your own thoughts and experiences about HOU!
Finally, let me know where you'd like to see next! Stay tuned for new flight and airport videos every two weeks!
Please travel safely and wear a mask!

    One of the best parts of being in a hub is seeing all the places people are going!

    How do you get from gate 1 to gate 51 quickly?

  • @MilesByFoot

    @MilesByFoot

    Those are on opposite ends of the airport, but thankfully, that's still not far, and there are several moving sidewalks along the way: about 1/3 of a mile (500 meters), a 10 minute walk at the slowest. Take a right when you exit Gate 1, walk down the big open hall, then turn right and use the moving sidewalk past the space exhibits. Turn right at the end of the hall and head all the way to end for Gate 51.

    Are there any bus or transportation to the Galveston cruise port from Hobby airport.

  • @averyjoseph1631

    Yes there is. A company called Galveston Limo offers a shuttle. Hobby Airport's website has more information about this particular one. Look under the Shuttles and Buses section of the Ground Transportation page.

    How do I get to carnival breeze cruise ship

  • @MilesByFoot

    @MilesByFoot

    5 ай бұрын

    You'll need to call Carnival to set that up, but they do offer airport-to-port shuttle service to Galveston. You'll need the flight's information to book this service; once you've arranged it, the shuttle rally point is near baggage claim 4, and will depart from HOU the same day the ship embarks.

    Any idea approximately how long it would take from corner of west concourse to corner of central concourse (gate 5 to gate 47)?

    Without running, you could get between any two gates in about 10 minutes.

    No safe places in Houston left democrats made sure of that when that designated it a "sanctuary" city..its a sanctuary to everyone but americans.

    Hobby is pathetic compared to Bush..the entire facility isn't a 1/10th as nice as Bush in its design,layout and convenience. Picking someone up a Hobby is like entering the Daytona 500 of airport arrival go rounds..the attendants refuse to let you look for your party,they rush you though like underweight cattle at an auction. I'd rather drive anywhere than fly out of Hobby and have to deal with the headache of that awful place.
