great video!!! Those rods you liked are called circle rods or sometimes called loop rods. They were very popular in the 80's and early 90's. The current perm rods they sell at sally's the flexi rods produce a similar result but more natural and beachy. If you go on web beauty plus you can get them. You can also use them with end papers to basically give your self a roller set too. They make a great perm called the american wave it smelled like eucalyptus, the ammonia free perm still smells bad and the thio free perm smells like urine!

The Neutralized solution doesn't "stop" the wave process. The Neutralized actually "fills in" the "holes" created in your hair shaft from the wave solution. The neutralizer filling in the chemically induced "holes" in the hair shaft, will keep the hair from being a dry frizz ball, and "seal" on the curl.

Looks very nice.

Depends on the hair how thick that will determine the diameter of the rod and size of curl loose curl or tight ...diameter of rod

The neutralizer actually locks in the curl by reforming the s bonds

Spiral loop rod perms are my favorite! No one does them anymore! Or even has the rods. The first time I saw them was in the early 2000s. I bought my own set online so I can coach someone through the perm 😂 it was $50 for 100 rods, 50 large and 50 medium.

You're right...they don't really use the loop rods any more...they use regular rods in a circular/spiral pattern, it seems. I am overdue for my next perm and would LOVE to gett a spiral perm done this time.

Where did you get those perm rods ?

I got my hair permed back in September & even though it was a super long process I absolutely love the results. My hair grows out super fast to the point that my colored hair shows major roots after one month so when would you recommend I get my hair re-permed?

+Priscilla Nieto Yay for permed hair! It's really up to you. You'll know when the roots are too grown out. I know my perm gives me lots of volume, so when my roots grow out too long, my hair kinda lays flatter on my head and I lose the volume. Because of that, I tend to re-perm every 5-6 months, but if you're hair grows really fast, you can get it done every 3-4 months.

They are just really a heavy and pulling rod but give a beautiful curl for the pain! It is possible they were wrapped too tightly, though.

To get this if you had a relaxer

Got a spiral perm on Monday but it's nothing like this! This is so good! Mine is mostly wavy & I'm so disappointed, I wanted it curly!! A student did it at a Tafe & the teacher said they couldn't make it stronger cause it would break my hair as I have a bit of colour still in it from 3 & a bit months ago 😦😡 I went back in today & they washed it & put a treatment in it & blow dried it for about 20 min 😦 & then used a curler cause I'm unhappy about it then it looked a bit better. They probably shouldn't have washed it today & should of put the right amount of solution on my hair to perm it

They messed up the perm. You can't wet your hair for 3 days. You do not dry it with a dryer and your curl depends on rolling position and roller size. They absolutely could have used a stronger perm on you, but it was probably the roller size and how she rolled them, not saturating the hair good with the solution and how she treated your hair afterwards.

First of all you had color and you should go in and had a consultation before you got a perm being you had color treated hair my advice is make sure you get a consultation before having a service done

In my salon we call them T-rings...many different names, all of them correct 🙂

I was in the 5th grade when I got my perm it lasted about 5 months rn its kinda just wavy now But I'm thinking To getting another perm but I hate the Rotten egg Spell🙁🙁🙁🙁

Emeree R. Snyder when i got a perm I waited a week to wash it and washed it every other week after that. It took about 3 weeks for me. I used essential oils for fragrance until the smell finally subsided.
