Moss side lost all the pubs when City moved out to east mcr. Claremont is the last one. Match day and concerts kept the pubs going. Lots of demographic changes also meant no demand for pubs. I.e. Somalians moving in.

It was GENTRIFIED. All for the students. They even merged certain mosside postcodes into hulme. W people and their game of control. Then you have this fool coming along looking down on communities. I went to Partington once and within minutes of me pulling up somebody asked for money to buy eggs, children asked ne to buy then crisps and a horse was walking around wildly. He has several issues, this is his outlet.

I was born in Salford and regularly parked up at Moss Side to watch City at Maine Road. In my opinion, Moss Side is the scarier of the two. Salford Precinct made me feel tense walking through it, but walking through Moss Side just made me feel uneasy. Didn't want to be there longer than I needed to. Not actually been to Moss Side since the late 90's, so maybe I've just got an old fashioned view of the place, hopefully things are better.

We went in the Claremont when Boro played at City once. It was one of those places where you stand quietly and try not to draw attention to yourself.
I grew up on the border with Old Trafford and Moss Side as a kid, as well as spending a couple of years in Wandsworth, in SW London. And I can tell you that neighbourhoods in North and East Manchester like Openshaw, Clayton and Harpurhey are all rougher than Moss Side. Moss Side has improved a lot over the past 20 years although it still has its.issues.

It's a matter of opinion but Moss Side isnt too bad, you have the gangs but they battle with each other and i feel safer walking round there than other areas mentioned here in the comments. Moston used to be like the Wild West but now it's had a great influx of African people its a lot safer to walk around at night and that's to its credit. Parts of Cheetham and Broughton are rough but as a separate city, Salford has the roughest estates by far in greater manchester. Good video bro.

I got a notification of a reply from yourself but the full comment can't be seen. I have a friend who lived there for decades and says he loved it, i'm guessing he's on the outskirts because i know there are some real scumbags in certain parts.
Apart from the City centre manchetser a hovel ! I work all over Manchester, all hell holes which include cheetham hill , crumpsall , longsight , harperhey , blackley & moston ...

Same with all uk cities, Leeds is worse
Ask someone from south Manchester and they'll tell you somewhere like Harpurhey, Openshaw or Collyhurst is the roughest. Ask someone from north or east Manchester and theyll tell you Moss Side or Wythenshawe is the worst. The grass is always rougher on the other side.
Balls of steel!
My god this country needs a government who will stop foreign aid and start rebuilding this country

Wythenshawe was reputed to be the biggest council estate in Europe, but according to the Guinness book of records (old style) the Beacontree estate in E.London was the biggest in Europe.
That's a nice old Victorian pub with character. I hope it isn't forced to close and get pulled down to build flats or a mosque, as is happening in so many areas like the these.
My dad grew up in Salford. We went down a memory lane drive, daytime. All nice and peaceful until 3 guys tried to throw a man in front of our car, We were doing about 40.
