@Sam99E The Cosworth is good but it can't compare to a Supra. The Cosworth is heavily tuned and the Supra has bolt ons, yet all you see is the Supras rear lights. Imagine what a single turbo Supra would have done to the Cosworth.

Several times? I could clearly see the drivers letting each other pass no more than 3 times. I could also see the Supra pulling away. The Supra is in a different league when it comes to performance. The Escort is a hatchback that competes with Calibras and Celicas, the Supra is a sports GT that competes with Skyline GT-Rs and 911s. The Cosworth also hasn't aged as well as the Supra too.

Cosworth would leave a supra in the corners even if it had a little less power. It's very much in the same league. Supra better on straights escort better in the corners. Escorts for worth alot more these days aswell

Both very different cars, the main advantage the Escort has over the Supra is it's 4wd drivetrain. It's relatively easy to get the 2jz in the Supra to 1000hp, but putting all that power down through the rear wheels is notoriously difficult, hence the Supra becoming a popular drift car over the years, whereas the Escort was always more of a rally car. It's a little unfair to compare it to a Calibra, it's more in the same league as a WRX Impreza or an Evo. Both very tunable cars though and are a good match for each other. It's worth noting the Escort Cosworth was built around the chassis and drivetrain from a 4wd Sierra rather than a standard Escort, with which it only shares a few components, mostly for homologation reasons.

Don't see what the hype is about, only went fast in a straight line or wide roads
