So let me understand this. They have a facility that is so fragile that a 249g drone falling on it will "cause it to explode" and cost millions of pounds of damage. And potentially everyone in the country could fly a drone like this near or over this facility. That seems to be a very poorly designed facility and should be investigated for malfeasance.

Seems implausible that the drone, flown at an appropriate height, would present any danger.

@@stephenwabaxter It is implausible but not impossible. It all depends on the systems on site as one drone flier found out flying close to a cooling tower. He didnt realise that it was forced air cooling and the turbulence seriously affected the flight nearly causing the drone to crash. Falling into a certain area could block a critical cooling system causing overheating and catastrophic failure. Its unlikely but still a risk. The incident I mentioned was on my site as engineering manager where the group engineering manager flew his drone that nearly caused the incident.

Crap management always shows itself.

Doggerland is really fascinating to read up on. there is so much lost history out there. it was the land bridge for ancient mesolithic people between mainland Europe and UK. An ancient natural disaster called the Storegga Slide (underwater landslide) off the coast of Norway caused massive tsunamis that sunk Doggerland forever as well as wiping out many people. Interestingly enough a lot of great floodings happened around this period too like in Indonesia which might have been the inspiration for the biblical floods.

That was a great video BP. Lot’s of effort just to get there, a real Reci through those bushes into the infrastructure. The security personnel were friendly and informative. Nothing top secret here. I’m amazed they went with HVDC for such a short distance, it saves money on the transmission, but costs more for the conversion. They must have had their reasons. Sketchy bit of road, look after yourself mate. See you on the next one. 👍

That security guard with the beard should set up a company that offers a more acceptable face ion security, more friendly and informed good for PR and shows professionalism. These large organisations are leaving themselves wide open to ridicule with middle managers like the heavy set pink haired lady who hadn’t got a clue and was just an embarrassment to Hitachi.

The camera guy said I could have gone round the corner and flown the drone and no-one would have known I was there so why didn't he do that. He is a trouble maker and wants a confrontation.
