Get to know the fortified city CALATAYUD | Walking tour 4k

Hello, I'm Marina! Join me on this 4k walk through 📍 Calatayud
This video was recorded in June 2023.
On today's tour we will tour the streets of Calatayud, a city with a lot of history in the province of Zaragoza.
Curiosities:
In the city and its region there are more than thirty Celtiberian towns, the most important being those of Segeda, Arcóbriga and Bílbilis.
The demonym used for its inhabitants is bilibitano, this was taken by the poet Antonio Serón from the ancient Roman city of Bílbilis. During the early Middle Ages the demonym used was Calatayudenses or Calayubies.
In 2007, some Roman baths were found in the urban area that it is believed could belong to Platea (a city of unknown origin mentioned by the poet Marco Valerio Marcial), apparently they measured about 700 m² and were in use from the 1st century to the 20th century. V AD
It was the Arabs who built the fortified area that would give the city its name, Qalʿat ʾAyyūb. Qalʿat means fortified city and Ayyub is an Arabic name, probably that of its founder.
Numerous cave houses can be found on the slopes of the gypsum sedimentary rock mountains. I have not been able to find much information but apparently they were used as housing and warehouses for hemp and fodder for livestock until the 1970s.
The city was also an important Jewish enclave, where you can still walk the streets of the Jewish quarter in the current Concepción neighborhood, which was delimited with walls which separated it from the Christian city.
If you visit the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Peña, you will be able to see that the virgin is black, which is usually related to mysteries, Templars, alchemy, pagan origins or her relationship with the figure of the goddess Isis... who knows, but The reality is that it seemed like a pretty magical city to me.
