I've had every Note phone, except the one that blew up :). I love the line. I don't know if I'll go with the 8 though. I love my stylus but could live without it. I'm going to wait and see what the new S9 looks like and go from there.

I personally like the ability to change batteries, like found in the Note 4. I haven't actually done it yet, but if there's something suspicious happening to my phone, I have an option to just remove the battery, and completely halt that weird thing that was happening. Also good if you're Edward Snowden and want to avoid being tracked, or having your phone attacked, and simply don't want to do the whole movie hacking scenario thing.

Yes! I absolutely want that S pen!! As an aspiring digital artist the value in that pen is worth more than anything else to me!

I just bought Mi Max 2 and it's amazing ! Very fast and smooth, battery that lasts for at least two and a half days, 4GB of RAM, 2.02Ghz octa-core, 64GB and it's 6.4 inches. I only paid £200 on Ali Express.

I love the implementation of the stylus, but other than that I don't see the appeal. Think I'm gonna stick with my current plan of getting an Xperia X and flashing Sailfish OS on it.

"The Not 8 arrives... But do we want it?". The answer is a resounding YES! Pre-orders in the US and Korea have out sold any previous Samsung models. Heck it's my first Samsung device in 3 years. But, it's MSRP is too high. I only got one because I had an eligible trade-in device worth $300 credit. That is probably the case for most Note 8 buyers. Trade-ins, carrier deals and future discounts are the only reasonable way to get one for most consumers. But, yes... Yes consumers definitely want it.

Integrate finger print reader into the screen, take off finger print scanner on back & eye reader, add stereo front facing speakers that are built into the front corners of the phone, get rid of edge part of screen to increase durability and weird distortion of screen, try to introduce 2.5 mm headphone jack (yes that's a real thing), integrate QC3 & Sony's tech on charging the battery only when the battery needs charging to elongate the battery life, change the Bixby button to a camera button (try a real camera button to know why), and change software to be stock but add your own cleaver integration (like camera app and cloud storage app).

If I could choose any feature to have on a new phone, it might be a landscape hardware keyboard. That would simplify things immensely, as I would have 1 less reason to carry an extra device... Which uses a different power connector because... Well... Why wouldn't it?

Motorola had slide out keyboard for the longest time.. Droid 4 was the last.. I loved that phone.

Too bad, no more explosion. That was the best feature though.

Yeah, i hope the iPhone 8 is gonna be bendy like its older brother, the way it bent in your pocket was so elegant... But good job both company fixed the issue or made it so you can no longer buy these faulty devices... oh wait, apple never fixed the issue, just made people buy a new phone with a "S" at the end with a new "non-bendy feature" :D

The only reason I'm going to the Note 8 (aside from my desire to get out from under a dying S7 edge) is the Best Buy + Verizon promotion in which Best Buy has the phone $150 off for people who pre-order, and Verizon is offering $480 off for a trade I of an excellent condition S7 Edge. Both of these promotions together drop the monthly payment of the phone to all of $12.75.

If I were working a job like my IT buddies, I'd buy one. Then, I'd shove it into a case with a keyboard(if it's not sold, I'll build one for less than $50USD). It'd be a great phone and I'd probably never buy another for several years(hell, my MotoX made it 3 years before I broke the screen & couldn't afford to fix it).

Thanks a lot for making the point that the note 8 is not worth the jump in price so it's best to be avoided unless you really need the pen/the 0.1 in bigger display over the plus/the small extra UI features. If the note 8 would merge with the galaxy s-whatever plus lineup, how would samsung earn so ludicrous margins as they currently do with the note? Let them be and have the lineup that makes the most money to them and we, customers will choose. Choice is good!

The Note line seems to me like a demonstration of the latest technology Samsung has, that's why they keep making it. Unfortunately the S8 has closed the gap so much people now don't see the relevance of the Note. Just let Samsung make it and enjoy the tech.

Hit it really hard with a hammer a couple of times and if it survives and still works then it might be worth it.

The Note 8 has 2gb more RAM than the S8+ doesn't it? that could also factor into a purchase

I'm always tempted to get one of these new shiny phones, upgrading from my Galaxy S4, but then I realize how little I actually do with my smart phone....and I get an opportunity to buy a second hand company Galaxy S6 for $73 so here's to another 2 years without buying a new phone!

This channel is like a more mature LTT. I wish they would expand their content lineup a bit. LTT has just become more or less "Because we can" videos rather than actual useful information. There are a few gems, yes, but for the most part that's what it's become.

I'm coming from a 6s plus to the note 8. It's worth it.

I am really heading reviews like this that say it only had a few things more when that is incorrect. Did you mention dex or the fact it had 6gb of RAM the most of any smartphone ever etc

Great phone, but don't pay MSRP (unless you are Mr./Mrs. MoneyBags or the S-pen is integral to the way you do business), use the trade-in program if you have an eligible device or wait for discounts and carrier deals. With a little patience no one need to pay MSRP except for the early adopters and those that are want one NOW. If the S pen isn't something you need or care about the S8, S8+ or upcoming V30 (especially for audio enthusiast and content creators) or various others are excellent alternatives.

I like the Note line but I agree it is time to merge the S and Note line together into one model. Its time has finally come. Just my two pennies worth.

if it doesnt have iOS and find my phone and icloud activation and impossible to flash or crack. then its a disposable phone...

A lot of engineering goes into fitting the S pen into the phone So I don't think getting rid of the note line is an option if you don't get rid of the pen too

Yes for everything other then VR. The moblie VR space is really good but the 1440p resolution really hurts the experience... 4k is needed!

I think two things Samsung needs to do two bring their two flagship phone is to make one more affordable and the other one for business like type. Instead of bring them both to close to similarity. They need to go back to the days of Note 4 and the S6. Get rid of the glass backing, focus more on customer protecting their protect, not make something more likely to break within the first month or even first year by accidental falls. I think Samsung has hit their limits with size. Anything bigger would just be way to big. Again focus more of the life of the product. Plus they downgrade on alot of hardware going from the Note 4 1 - 16MP camera to 2 - 12MP camera with stabilization. Why not 2 16MP cameras with stabilization?

Dunno, if I haven't traded my S7 for the S8+, might've gotten this one. Then again, ain't that EXACTLY the problem?

maybe samsung should remove the s+ variant rather than note variant .

The battery being smaller is my only gripe with the Note 8, other than that it's nearly a perfect phone.

+Péter Pixelmaster: Yes, I too have seen sources that confirm this. According to those sources, Samsung made a lot of optimizations to the Note 8's software to conserve battery life. I don't know why they wouldn't bring these improvements to the S8's, but it is what it is. Maybe they will.

The note is great, but please don't saddle everyone else looking for a big screen with that s pen and a smaller battery. The note line should remain separate. It's matured and not so special anymore. That's fine. It doesn't need a bigger screen than the s8 or 9. The pen and productivity features make it perfect for those who need that, while all others can still get a big screen without being saddled with what a small minority wants. The note line is what makes Samsung's phone a more versatile lineup compared to Apple. The latter can't experiment to cater enthusiasts. Samsung can if it keeps the note line around.

I want note 4 but better, note 8 isnt. I want removable battery, I want 2 usb c, headphone jack I want micro sd, i want ir blaster, nfc, etc. I do not want a bixbi button, I want front facing speakers, and non spring stylus as springs have a tendency of failing.

The one thing I don't like, the button on the S pen is too high, suppose to be lower! Doesn't look natural the way you hold the pen but I can work around it! Again Like Is aid since the note1 this phone is made for business people, not your average Joe that wants to show off to his friends at school his new toy!

No it most likely is not. If you "need" it then buy it. Others, S8 is great. Aaaand im using galaxy S4... Cuz removable batteries :D

almost 1k dollars plus monthly fees, dam this phone industry keeps getting more expensive with time instead of cheaper lol. I prefer to buy a gaming pc with that money

I hate 'phablets' and if you need a stylus the phone is too big(I have an Intuos for art... why you need that level of sensitivity on a phone idk). Personally if I can't hold a phone comfortably in my hand then it is useless to me. My Nexus 5 was perfect until it simply bricked itself, and since every phone has been getting larger... It bothers me greatly that I have to sacrifice features/flagship to get a phone that fits in my hand without worry of dropping it. I hate dual app mode and find it incredibly annoying. I honestly don't understand the point of this when the OS is going to use 40% of the RAM almost all the time and running two apps at the same time, like maps and pandora as suggested will eat a shit ton more thus slowing the phone down. Course at this point phones need more than 6GB of RAM... 3 generations in and 6GB is still the most on a 'flagship' that costs 800+ dollars? With apps getting as large as programs for a desktop more RAM is needed... obviously this isn't a problem with the advance of memory.. so I fail to see why companies are not going up to 8GB. I hate the personal assistant. Never liked, never used, always disabled. On a different note... WHY is every damn company making phones so slick? Why do they think that texture is a bad thing? I dropped my S7 Edge REPEATEDLY until I got a case because it just slipped right out of my hand. Every company is doing this.

All those outstanding additions and you don't think it's worth thirty cents a day for a year... People surely don't understand value. No phone is worth it, but you use it every day. Just think about that.
