    A video on night shot settings would be great! I sometimes get a washed out look on the fish either from the flash or external lighting

    Well thought out and presented video on fish photography very well done. Not seen one out there this detailed. Would like to see one on video settings and the use of Nd filters or polarised filters as slow shutter speeds and low f numbers are a nightmare with water and grey clouds

    I never use a shutter speed under 1/60 because slower will blur the moving gills of the fish

    Very helpful Bradley, thankyou. Are you able to see the pictures being taken whilst using an external intervalometer? I ask because I understand that this is not possible when using the integral intervalometer in the EOS 80d, for example. Thanks in advance

    Tape the focal ring in manual focus,you can even do this with a piece of tungsten putty once its on tripod.Its far better than having it in auto focus if you are not in single focal point ,you will get drift in the focusing

    I have a crop sensor camera the canon 650d and find that the 50mm works fine, you just have to set it up further back I prefer as I find you never get any splash marks on the lens, can be tricky in a tight spot though maybe I should also get a 35 🤔

    Hey Bradley I’m looking for a DSLR that’ll be good for might time photos. I’m usually with a mate but they don’t know anything about photography (just a little less than me 😂) I’m looking at the 250D as I left my 750D on the bank in a rush to pack down at 5am on a Saturday morning to catch the ferry home. I’m thinking of a 50mm lens with a 1.8 app hoping this will do the trick with some of the trakker floodlights. I also bought a Ridgemonkey torch that screws on to a bank stick which is now lost. With a French trip only 2 weeks away I’m on a tight budget with 50kg of boilies which we all k is aren’t cheap. What camera with a flip around screen inc Wi-Fi would you recommend mate. Or any of you hugs that know a bit. Tia Mart

    I’ve got that app and it worked fine. Then early spring I’d noticed I’d taken 12 photos and only one of them had me and the fish in it. Turns out it was taking pics every time a nearby bird started singing. Good but not perfect.

    Brilliant video. Thank you. Only negative thought from me was the comment on treating fish after the photo. By doing it before a picture the product has longer to soak into the fish before putting it back. By doing it afterwards it doesn't give much chance to soak in without keeping the fish out the water for even longer. Thoughts?

    As soon as you treat with propolis, then splash water over the top, it forms an instant barrier so will not affect the treatment of the fish

    Got to be the best video out there at the moment on camera settings etc. Now could someone explain to me about iso on night shots ? When using the flash in pitch black conditions, do I have a low iso or high as the flash is producing a lot of light. Just can't seem to get it right.

  • @ProGamingKieran

    @ProGamingKieran

    I would say low as you have alot of light you want the iso as low as you can get it to cause less noise, but if you was not using the light then a high iso would be advised

    Berny7337 hi Berny, the 200D is a crop sensor camera, ideally you’d use a 35mm lens but these are fairly expensive. A 50mm lens will still get great results, but if you can go for the 35mm.

    The 50mm f1.8 is still a fantastic lens even on a crop. The value is unbeatable. You could still take self shots with a 50mm but you would have to set the camera up quite far away. Anyway generally speaking the 50mm is still a inexpensive must have imo buddy 👍

    I have a canon 650d and I was advised to get a 24mm lense would this be the best lense for self takes ?

  • @Yosser70

    @Yosser70

    4 жыл бұрын

    Keith Oakey Thatd be too wide most of the time so you’d have to have the camera pretty close and that can cause distortion. Best lens would be a short zoom like a 18-55 or 28-70mm. That’ll give you more options and make life easier for you. Hope that helps.
