Get that A-body Mopar 8 3/4 you want! - Hoosier Garage
We pulled this junkyard '66 C-body differential a couple of years ago with the intent of narrowing the housing and installing it into the 1972 Plymouth Duster that you can see get completely rebuilt on this channel. The C-body axle housing measures 56 1/2" from one end of the housing to the other (backing plates removed) and need to remove the spring perches and take each side down 1 15/16" (or 1 7/8" depending on how you cut) We'll use a round bar the length of the housing and special made pucks from Leadmine Products that help align the new configuration for welding.

This is the BEST way I have EVER seen anyone do a Mopar 8 3/4" housing! Great video! I have at least a half dozen of these C-Body housings saved up... You need any? I would trade or make a deal, just to have a couple done for myself. I am in N.W. Georgia at Mopar Restos.

Now I know what to do with the 3 C body housings that I've been saving all these years. Adam I have to say that you are on your way to stardom. Thanks for the great videos and to anyone watching, don't forget trucks and vans also came with 8 3/4 housings too.

Love your content efforts to make a video. The way you made the grinder chop saw effect. All that extra beveling and filing is a bit to much. Mopar Joe’s idea using a hand pipe cutter is much easier. It automatically puts a nice bevel. Now the solid rod and putting center section back in to setup to re-weld the ends and mounting pads close to using a housing jeg. Your engineer technique sometimes cost you extra work. 😊👍🏻🏁🇺🇸😎

Thanks I guess..lol the filing just eliminate loose bits, and the bevels only take a few minutes each side. I like them a little extra for the fill metal to really tie in there. I am a bit extra. ha
