Lyrics/Letra🎶 When I was a little boy I used to hang my feet In the muddy waters That run through your streams Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home When I see a wagon it was coming down the street Filled with feed and swine and such And that’s a lot of meat Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home Now you see them little boys at their mother’s feet They’ve learned how to hate and cut and even kill the free Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home The fields they are golden now the cycle will complete In order to harvest the grain You got to cut the weed Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home When I was a little girl I used to want your cow Begin to go across the way Cause the fires are burning now Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home When you see the children x’s on their head If you dare look at them soon you will be dead Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home Babies gonna disappear from the momma’s arms There’s gonna be a lot of fear But we’ll be on the run Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home Daddy used to beat me He’d treat me like himself He taught me the ways of a man And now I’m by myself Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home Love is all forever and its been your slave Now it’s gonna open your eyes And rise you from your hate Get on home, get on home Come on home little children, come on home

@2:54, the young woman on the far left is Angela Lansbury's daughter (I forget her name). She was about 16 yrs. and had a "permission slip" of sorts from her mom in case of police raids. She was never a true member of "The Family", just a hanger on of sorts, I gather.

Terry Melcher (Doris Day's son) thought about producing Charlie's songs, then changed his mind. Manson had been to the house on Cielo Drive that Melcher was renting. Melcher was living there with his girlfriend Candice Bergen, and Mark Lindsay lead singer of Paul Revere and The Raiders. They soon moved out and Sharon Tate and her husband Roman Polanski moved in.

All other considerations aside, I have always thought this a good song. The general arrangement and vocals are first class and done well. Manson was a self-taught musican who aspired to be a recording artist and Brian Wilson him talented. Unfortunately, he did not have the discipline and rigour to take advice from other more experienced musicans in the studio so Wilson gave up on him. Manson was actually a very affable guy and most liked him. His "country manners" were excellent.

I noticed that too, his manners. But like others of that ilk, he had many sides, he acted on the most murderous impulses. So, I'm left to surmise that that politeness was "acting." His musical talent was minimal at best. Considering the level of competition at the time for the level of success he craved, that fool had no chance.

Dennis Wilson: " I live with 17 girls." "They're space ladies. And they'd make a great group. I'm thinking of launching them as the "Family Gems." ... "We met two girls hitch-hiking. One of them was pregnant. We gave them a lift, and a purse was left in the car. About a month later, near Malibu, I saw the pregnant girl again, only this time she'd had her baby. I was overjoyed for her and it was through her that I met all the other girls. I told them about our involvement with the Maharishi and they told me they too had a guru, a guy named Charlie who'd recently come out of jail after 12 years." (Record Mirror - Dec. 21, 1968)

you all are thinking to much about it. Its a catchy song, sit back, relax and enjoy it for what it is A SONG! Dont worry about who is singing it damn.

It is so wild to see all the stir this one man caused....this society is too much, people who fear their own shadows, and their own evils. Charlie is right, if you fear him you must fear yourself, as we are all ONE! I am not saying killing is right, but really look at all the killing we allow our governments to do. One question, where would we be if this all had not taken place?

Sandy is still waiting for Charlie to get released. In fact, she’s still outside the LA county courthouse.
