Get more control on skis

Спорт

If you're feeling out of control when the terrain changes, or you struggle to turn when you need on snow - you'll want these 4 stability tips.
If you're a Carv user, this content will help you get higher balance scores (both start of turn and end of turn) and get that new Ski:IQ high score this winter.
Crack a walnut, use a chair, flex your gluts and ski like a dolphin. It might sound random, but these are ways you can seriously upgrade your control on snow.
Richard Amacker, one of the most stylish and smooth skiers out there, takes us through the mechanics of building control on skis. Hint: it's all about your stance and balance.
He's using Carv here to show his balance - because watching how to ski is one thing, but learning what great technique feels like is a whole new challenge. That's why we built Carv - to give you objective and accurate feedback.

I’m a beginner/ intermediate skier. Yesterday I accidentally chanced upon keeping my stance width dynamic (wider at the turns and narrower in between) and boom, it felt like a new “achievement” unlocked. Now I feel I’ve levelled up my skiing game a bit. Awesome to see your video affirming that.

The motion of your feet putting pressure onto the edge and the stance remind me of a speed skater, shifting the pressure from ski to ski. Lovely!

Liked your comment on 'highest ski position allowed'. But.. 95% of skiers seen on slopes miss this basics. Why? Because they miss the leg power needed (acquired from gym) and, they never taken lessons from any ski instructor. But... They go down fast, with little edge control. Or have you seen so many recreational skiers with super edge control? Most knees dont bend to that... It can hurt if done wrongly.

Chair drills: i don't totally agree. You use too much the hips instead of the pelvis.
