Of course we would love to see your vacay. However, a vacay is for relaxing a making memories so don't stress about filming unless it's for your memories.

Oh yes, I grew up having strawberry shortcake for supper and sometimes it would just be sliced tomatoes and corn on the cob. That's how it is when your father is a farmer. I can't get over how all of your children resemble their dad.

My favorite was a bowl of fresh wild raspberries we'd picked (or wild blueberries) with milk/sugar, and slice of bread/butter. Sometimes it was too hot for mom to cook in house and it was a light meal. I remember meals you mention above as well. Brings back memories of living in the country. Thanks for sharing those memories

Yes! We ate strawberry shortcake like that growing up! My mom would also serve bologna and cheese with it for something salty. My husband thought I was nuts when he first saw how we ate it! Anyway, nice to know we’re not the only ones who ate it that way. I also love milk on chocolate cake! So good!

I haven't had strawberry shortcake in several years. Instead of making shortcake, I like following the "Cherry Yum Yum" recipe except I use strawberry pie filling instead of cherry pie filling so I guess I make "Strawberry Yum Yum". By the way, that's a sort of strange name but it is really scrumptious! Don't know how hot it is down there where you live, Lynette, but I live in Nashville and it is 98 degrees here at mid-day. I took my trash to the curb recently and I took it at 4 o'clock in the morning because that is the only time I could stand to be outside long enough to push the can to the curb. I think at 4 a.m. it was around 73 or so and I can handle that but at 98 I just keep my happy self in the house next to the air conditioner! And yes, I would love to see a day of Oaklynn.

Used to live in Montpelier Idaho just over the border from Jackson Hole Wy. Idaho is beautiful top to bottom, love WY too but it is more plains. Lots of water activities around, hot pools, rafting, etc. you should try to see Bear Lake just out of Montpelier toward Utah, it is known for it's aqua blue water. Yellowstone is great but don't see too much wildlife maybe a moose but they don't like humans so stay in the car.

You'll be in my neck of the woods - sort of anyway. Missoula, MT is quite a ways from Yellowstone, but still very hot. We're in the high 80's to low 90's - just very little humidity. Hopefully not too much of temperature shock.

All of my outdoor potted plants are doing great and thriving as well; I have 3 Pothos on my screened porch th are growing as if they have magic beans in them and my succulents are awesome as well. I live 90 miles from Jackson and West Yellowstone. My grandparents built a cabin in macks inn 90 years ago. It is still in the family. You will love the area. My mother always called it God's country! Have fun!

Me too ........milk on strawberry shortcake. I grew up in PA . Lancaster county.....Amish and Mennonite area. I also watch Megan Fox love watch background as she drive since I’m from that area. So enjoyed your trip to Ohio reminds me of PA. My husband and I moved to near Charleston SC . He had enough with snow as he worked in maintenance for a school district. He had enough time to retire from that job. He now works maintenance for a park and playground in Charleston. And our one daughter and family live in this area. The oldest daughter and family followed us soon after our move and we have another daughter and husband in TN. Only have my father back in PA.
