This level of celebrations take place in only few states of India. Majority of the people here celebrate holi only by worshipping fire and lord Vishnu. But diwali is celebrated countrywide with even more enthusiasm, especially in Northern India.

India isn't a s##t country. Its just that we are a country of 1 billion people with very diverse culture. Hopefully, we will catch up with you western countries in terms of quality and infrastructure. all these problems can be eradicated by education. If enough of our people are liberated from poverty by education, then that day isn't far away where our country will join the list of developed nation!

China is a country with over 1 billion people and a diverse culture yet they're one of the biggest modern leaders in infrastructure and design. India is so rooted in both religion, and deep culture and history it's traditionalistic system puts them at claw when compared to other third world countries. Along with India's government which is failing to support such a vast country, india will buckle under itself.

"With very diverse culture" Well.. a country which has a low level of tolerancy is dont have many diversity. That's what made them intolerance. If india is so diverse, then how about the intolerance thing? Muslim, black people, judge people based on the skin color, gender, race.

Saurabh Yadav well, developed countries have many pathalogical problems of it's own. But India has a very long way to go to being a country with good enough living conditions. I live in a chawl in Mumbai with poor infrastructure all around and the authority in charge of these chawls don't do much to help us residents in terms of the water supply problem, decent enough sanitation and roadworks. Gratefully I am not born in a slum where conditions are a great notch worse than in the chawls here. It will probably take half a century or even a century long for India to become tremendously clean and decent enough for living. But i also notice that India is becoming very capitalistic and seems to be copying the capitalistic US and other such western countries. We ignore the suicides of the farmers in Maharashtra but would have Modi gladly ink the thousands of crores deal with Japan for a fucking bullet train to connect the city of Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Then there was the stupid demonitisation move which actually resulted in the deaths of so many people. It was a thoroughly botched implementation which affected the poor people terribly even as the rich and the privileged lauded the unnecessary move.
