Get Amazing Wifi in your Garden Office

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Got great WIFI in your home - but barely find the signal in your garden office - then this is for you! My garden office is over 30 metres away from my router. I live on the outskirts of Syston, Leicestershire and on my phone I sometimes hit the dreaded Edge signal for the mobile! Rubbish!!! Tethering my Mac to my phone is a big pain! Not any more.
With the Powerline Sender and Receiver - I'm able to get 50mbs in my Garden Office. Whaaaaaaaaaaat!
KEY NOTE: I have an armoured cable connected to my main electric board (in the garage) and a cable that goes around the house and is about 50metres in length to reach the Office. You must ensure that the plugs are connected on the same power-line for your house.
The PowerLine you need = www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B... = £39 (This is not an affiliate link).
Free yourself and get out there into your office/shed/summerhouse/hole in the ground and feel the WIFI!

    So - so glad you saw it. It makes such a difference right? I know it drops the speed a bit but if you’ve got great speed inside then the mains connected speed makes a big difference. I used to have a 3G dongle and it barely got 1mbps in the garden office and that bothered me sooooooo much.

    This video is exactly what I’ve been looking for can’t thank-you enough your shed is even further away than mine I’m buying these exact same 1s .. I took a couple of snapshots of the box while you were waving it around lol 😆 however do you know if a gaming console would work up in your office / shed ?? Have you ever had 1 up there ? I’d be grateful for any knowledge Thank you great video

    Totally fine. To be honest - inside I get 390mbps. But this device does reduce the mbps to 80mbps - but that is still pretty fast for a shed so far away. Make sure that you are plugged into wall sockets and not an extension lead. Extension leads will still work but the speed will drop even more. My son sometimes plays online on a PS5 in the shed so totally fine.

    I have the same tp-link setup However I have the receiver in my kitchen which boosts the signal up to the bottom of my garden in my office/gym I have no wifi issues working on my laptop or connecting my phone & using zoom etc but for some reason the android tv box really struggles to stream anything & I’d like to watch tv while I’m walking in there 😢😢 We need the receiver in the kitchen as one of the bedrooms, directly above really struggles without it there I wonder if you can connect a 2nd receiver so I could add one to my office?? If so can you even get just the receiver

    Not sure about just getting the receiver but they used to sell multi packs. Technically I would expect it to work as it’s on the same electrical line.

    Are you using a separate power consumer unit for the garden office, or does the power come from the same one in the house? Just wondering as I heard that if there is a circuit breaker or something in between the power lines it won't work

    Your tutorial has convinced me that you are GOD. I have been trying with some difficulty to get wifi in my garden shed without much success - I failed, then I failed again then I failed again, but now I am going to copy your installation method and buy the connection equipment that you used. I can't thank you enough for sharing your set up and product information with me. I still believe you are GOD. Thanks JB (United Kingdom).

    Im hoping to have the exact same set up in my garden also about 30m away, so this is very helpful, thank you. Btw, is your garden office insulated. How has it felt in the winter?

  • @websquadron

    @websquadron

    It is insulated but I hate it. In fact i rarely use it now. In Summer it's too hit, and in Winter I was using a heater to stay warm, and the cost of running that all the time is rubbish. PS - having to go in and out for the toilet, food. fridge, etc - especially when it's cold/raining isn't fun :)

    @websquadron oh dear, sorry to hear that. Im hoping to insulate my walls before plasterboarding, as well as my floor and roof, so I'm hoping this makes it more usable than if i left it as is. Fingers crossed, it works as I need the office space!

    So is this system Using the electrical wiring ? Or is it using the Wi-Fi signal that’s being transmitted from the transmitter you installed next to your router? Seems odd to me that the router signal doesn’t reach your shed but the tp transmitter does?

  • @websquadron

    The Garden-Office is almost 50 metres away, an travels through the Electrical Wiring. It's not uncommon for WiFi to lose speed over distances beyond concrete/brick walls. I now have a 1GB line that gives 1GB inside, and via this device, I get close to 500mbps in the Garden Office.

    For anyone who has gotten and used this product do you know if this will work with a outdoor shed made of some metal. I have a friend who has a shed about 10 or so feet from the house with the wifi and they arent able to get a signal if not just barely when in a corner of the shed. If this can work form within metal shed than thatd be great to know. Any help is appreciated.

    This will fine as long as it uses the same electrical cable connected to your house.

    Worth noting that this only works if installed on the SAME circuit and if the garden room has had the electrical installation done correctly it will NOT be on the same circuit. I’ve tried it anyway and it failed.

    Okay will this work! Tell me what you think, Cat 6 cable from router, down 70 metres end of garden. Tye sender and tye resever will be in the summer house. Cat 6 into the sending that's in the summer house to then connect to the resever that's in the summer house. Will this work

  • @websquadron

    @websquadron

    3 ай бұрын

    Hi Jack. The length of my cable from the RCD box is about 70 metres :) The sender should be connected to your Router via Ethernet, so should be within 1-2 metres of the Router. The Receiver can be anywhere as long as it shares the same electric setup. So as long as the Summer House's cable shares the same RCS box etc, you'll be fine. Just make sure that the receiver and sender are not plugged into extension cables.

    This is a joke. It has to be connected to the exact same power line curuct breaker in your house that your router is connected to. The odds of someone having the same power line out in thier yard as the same line your router is plugged into is not very likely.

    I do state that it needs to be on the same line, and I know plenty that have added armoured cabling to their sheds/offices. Cost me £500 to have someone supply and fit in June 2021, though I don't know your layout, budget, or access to the circuit box. There are other options since then that could help you, however this works. Take care and good luck.
