Get a Hoya Polyneura to Thrive | Blooms | Care & Tips
I share my ultimate care guide on my hoya polyneura, or otherwise, know as the fishtail hoya or mermaid hoya.
I know some people struggle a bit to propagate this plant and to get it thriving and blooming can be a bit challenging at times.
I have been able to not only get it to bloom heavily but also managed to keep it happy and avoid root rot. So hopefully what I have learned along the way will help you with yours.

I Subscribed Today AND Also Purchased A Polyneura Today... SO I'm Watching This Video!!!
One of the best ones I've seen!
Thank you for sharing these tips. I recently purchase a 3inch pot of both the polyneura broget and the albo. It’s been a very slow process and I’m afraid they will take forever to take off. I wish I’d seen this video before caring for them because I can see the broget get a yellow leaf on a baby leaf due to what I now suspect is overwatering.
Love your laugh. Its so fun to hear. Current acquired a polyneura. Roots did not survive the shipping. It was bone dry when it arrive with yellowing. I think ive only managed to save a one leaf cutting. Hoping it grows roots soon.
Janky support stick shout out? I’m here for it!
Found this very helpful as I’m quite early on in my Hoya journey, but I have my first polyneura arriving tomorrow 😁. Hopefully it will eventually be as full as yours (I know, slow growing so I have to be patient). Thanks for sharing.
Woah I've never seen one so massive! I got a rooted cutting a while ago and it seems content but refuses to do anything. Hoping one of the nodes activates eventually!

Aw thanks 🙏 I have heard they can take a while to root out, but if mine is anything to go by, after it has 4-5 leaves and is rooted it can grow quite fast for a hoya 😅
You can use system rose granules in soil and do every 6 weeks and you will have no pest
What fertilizer do you use for this hoya? I live at 8900 altitude..is that high enough?! Is it a spring/summer grower as most Hoyas? Really appreciate your videos..fully informative...
Is humidity critical ?
So I actually just received my first rooted cutting of polyneura and I've been going back and forth about what substrate I should put it in🤔 You mentioned that you moved yours over into Pon..was there a reason you thought it would do better in pon, or did you just want to switch it up??

no specific reason i just wanted to try it in Pon as most of my Hoya love Pon
AAAaaa! Memo! It's the only hoya I have How beautiful it has blossomed for you! 🤩 I got stuck in the PON - he was going very reluctantly. Rotten roots, stems ... I poured it into water in a dark vessel - SUCCESS Soon I will have to "ground her" I managed to root a lot in PON (but not h.polineura) but I don't have plants in PON, I don't know why, but I can't ... I can combine aroid and cactus mixtures What to do? Maybe this will be my first plant in PON?

Yayyyyy so good that this is your hoya 👏👏👏👏👏 Yeah they can be really tricky, I find if you start a hoya cutting in water it can transition quite well into pon then
